"alright alright!! how are we all doing tonight!!" ariana grande spoke into the microphone as she hosted the awards for "song of the year". nini nervously sat in her seat with seb and kourtney holding both of her hands. ricky's heart was beating so fast out of his chest, he could of made a song with it.

a compilation of songs and videos played on all of the tvs, earning cheers and screams from stans who saw their artist on the big screen. nini and ricky gave each other reassurance with a quick glance and a small smile.

lastly, "traitor's tainted love" played with compilation videos of ricky and nini. the two awkwardly sat in their seats as the video played and the audience's eyes fixated on them.

"alright!! those were some amazing songs haha," ariana awkwardly said into the microphone as fixed her ponytail so it's not around her shoulder. the petite girl opened up the envelope with a sly smirk on her face, "and the award for "song of the year" goes to ..... nini salazar-roberts and ricky's bowen's traitor's tainted love!!"

the crowd started screaming with cheers as they turned around to look at the two. nini felt her heart drop and almost didn't get up until seb pulled her hand. the girl glanced at her friends as they encouraged her to get on stage.

"oh uhm okay," ricky mumbled to himself as he awkwardly got up. gina and carlos snickered under their breath, loving the drama. ricky eyed them before walking out to the aisle where his eyes met nini's. the two smiled at each other before awkwardly walking down to the stage together.

ariana gave them a silly smile before stepping to the side so they could speak into the microphones. nini grabbed the award from ariana and gave her a huge smile. ricky and nini stood close together in front of the microphone.

ricky looked at all the people watching them and started to feel nervous. he looked over at nini who only smiled at him. it was probably the last time he got to see her face so up-close.

"wow uhm, this is insane," ricky breathed out into the microphone with a chuckle, "i just wanted to thank everyone that voted for nini's and i's song. it means a lot to us."

"yeah it's not easy having your life plastered all over the world but you guys, our fans, have made everything amazing and ricky and i couldn't thank you guys enough for all the support and love we receive," nini proudly said into the microphone.

"yes! you guys are the real reason we're up here today and i don't know what i'd do without you guys! we love you all so much and thank you!" ricky lastly said before the two headed towards backstage.

as soon as they were out of sight, nini excitedly jumped into ricky's arms — catching him off guard. ricky hesitated but eventually melted into nini's arms too. after a few seconds, nini finally broke away and gave ricky a shy smile. they awkwardly looked to the floor as ricky scratched the back of his head.

"uhm, did you wanna see the award?" nini shyly asked as she held the award close to his face. ricky nodded his head and nini carefully placed it in his hands.

"wow it's ... heavy?" ricky softly said. nini chuckled and nodded her head as they both eyed the award.

"so much excitement for a ... rock," nini joked. ricky laughed and nodded his head in agreement as he looked at the little details in the award.

"yeah ... it's pretty cool though, huh?"

"yeah it's.. satisfying to hold it in your hands..." nini proudly said as she admired the award that was in ricky's hands. the boy glanced at nini's face and pushed the award towards her.

"keep it."

"what?"

"you can keep it," ricky softly told her as he handed the award back over. nini looked at the award in her hands and back up at ricky, "you deserve it."

"but ... so do you."

ricky chuckled and shook his bead, "i want you to have it. besides we all know it was your vocals that carried the song anyways," ricky happily said as he nudged nini. the girl let out a laugh and smiled at the boy.

"thank you," she softly told him. they both admired each other with smile's before she continued, "uhm... great job, by the way.. in finishing that song.."

ricky's lips perked up as his cheeks got red, "finding inspiration wasn't so hard.."

nini was too nervous to say anything and ricky noticed how quiet the girl got. he took that as his cue to stop talking and leave before it gets any worse.

"uhm anyways," ricky quickly said, "thank you again for everything, nini....i hope the best for you."

ricky gave nini one last smile before walking away. nini felt her heart start to beat faster and she looked back down at the award and back up at ricky.

"ugh, fuck it." the girl let out a groan as she put the award down and chased after ricky. the boy felt a tug at his hand and turned around to see nini beaming at him.

"nini?" ricky asked in confusion. the girl only smiled at him before wrapping her arms around his neck and smashing her lips into his.

ricky got taken aback and lightly pulled away from nini's lips, "not that i'm complaining but... i thought you thought it was best for me to be out of your life?"

nini let out a sigh and pulled ricky closer to her, "just don't let me be right, got it?"

"got it," ricky happily answered. they both broke out into a smile before the boy cupped nini's face and reconnected their lips.

ricky grabbed the back of nini's neck and deepened the kiss even more. the girl smiled into the kiss, missing the feeling of his minty soft lips on hers. ricky replayed their kisses many times in his head, wondering if he was ever gonna experience it again. but this — this was way better than they both imagined. it felt like they were on top of the world.

"sorry... to interrupt," nini and ricky heard a voice say. the couple pulled apart and awkwardly wiped their mouths. the sound tech guy pointed to the stage, "their kinda announcing the award for "best upcoming artist" ... figured you'd guys wanna listen..."

"oh"

"oh yeah."

ricky and nini let out a chuckle as their cheeks blushed. ricky dug his hands in his pockets and motioned his head towards the stage. the girl followed shortly behind him.

ricky stood behind nini and wrapped his arms around the small girl, smiling as he rested his chin on her head. the girl held her hands on top of his arms and leaned her body closer to his.

"hope you know im still fighting you for that award," nini whispered back to ricky with a snarky smile. ricky rolled his eyes and gave nini a smile.

"mhm and don't go crying when you hear the name 'ricky bowen' get called out."

nini chuckled and shook her head, "watch us both lose."

"that would be our luck," ricky answered with a laugh.

"and the award for 'best upcoming artist' goes to... nini salazar-roberts!!" harry styles announced. a smile beamed from ricky's and nini's face and the girl quickly turned around to hug him.

"NINI CONGRATS!" ricky exclaimed. nini just looked at ricky with glee and the boy lightly pushed her away, "what the hell are you still doing here!? harry styles is waiting for you out there!!"

"RIGHT, be right back lol," nini excitedly squealed as she ran onto the stage with a huge smile on her face. ricky chuckled under his breath at how clumsy and nervous the girl was.

ricky let out a sigh of relief and looked at his girl with a bright smile. the boy always said that he would give her the world, but he never knew nini would be his.
