1346 words.

"your cocktail, miss." you handed one cocktail glass to the lady and she smiled as she took it from you.

she offered you a tip, and you accepted it.

you mouthed thank you and went to the bar to get more drinks.

you needed to make enough money tonight because if not, you're getting kicked out from the apartment you were staying at.

so every tip counts, and the more drinks you serve, the more tips comes on your way.

"three martini's and one mocktail." you said to the bartender.

"coming right up." he smiled as he went to make the beverages.

"girl, look at him." your cowaitress whispered and pointed at the man in the left  side of the bar, sipping what looks like whiskey.

"what's with him?" you asked as you looked at him. he looks frustrated as he removed his office jacket revealing his figure.

"a pilot. watch me take him home." she whispered and smirked. she arrogantly went to the man, and sat beside him.

you just chuckled. and shook your head.

"three martinis." the bartender said and put the three glasses on your tray. you took it from him and before you went to give out the drinks, you saw your friend walk away from the man, looking defeated.

you chuckled.

"i think he's gay." your friend said as she approached you.

"why? because he turned you down?" you grinned at he and she just rolled her eyes at you.

"yeah. because nobody..." she made a weird pose, "can turn me down." she winked and smirked.

you fake choked, and she just slightly hit you.

later that evening, as your shift ends, he's still there. you can't help but to look at him, ever since your friend mentioned him to you.

as you were cleaning the area of the bar directly in front of him, he looked up to you.

you immediately looked the other way as you were embarrassed that he caught you looking at him.

"you've been checking me out this entire night, don't you?" he asked.

"n-no." you stated and continued wiping the counter infront of him.

"it's okay. i've been looking at you too." he chuckled and sipped from his glass.

you awkwardly laughed as you cleaned the glasses.

"my friend likes you." you stated.

"i know. but i don't like her back. and its better to shut her down than leading her on." he said and put down the empty glass.

"can you get me another whiskey?" he asked.

"actually i'm ending my shift. i'll just ask the bartender." you smiled at him and took off your apron.

"uh, no! actually i'm good. how about i walk you out?" he stood up and grabbed his wallet, to pay the bartender.

you stood there, looking at him pulling out thousands of bills.

"i-i don't offer that kind of service, sir." you softly said to him as you watch him hand you a thousand dollar bill from his pocket.

he stopped for a sec, and looked at you before bursting in laughter.

"no, uhm this is my tip. i'm not that kind of customer either." he smiled brightly and handed you the thousand dollar.

"no, thanks sir. as i said my shift ended so you might aswell give that to the other waitress." you said and refused the tip, even if you know that would cover 2 months on rent.
