"it's not even a big deal, jae." you muttered after getting into jaehyun's car, fixing your seatbelt.

"not a big deal? y/n, out of all people he could've called, he called you. i don't know how that's okay." jaehyun spat, starting the engine of his car and drove out of the driveway.

okay, so what happened was your ex had called you earlier about the party that you were about to go to. he's asked you to say to the host that he couldn't make it due to personal reasons.

now, jaehyun's throwing a fit because it's 'suspicious' that you two are still on each other's contact list.

"jaehyun, please. i don't want to start the party in a sour mood. stop being childish." you responded rightfully so. jaehyun's being childish and it's coming out like he doesn't trust you.

"childish? okay, y/n. sure." jaehyun sounded offended, and the whole ride turned quiet.

you rolled your eyes. obviously jaehyun is upset, but you can't just let him be childish like that. sometimes he needs to be called out, because you two are in a mature relationship, and being upset over some phone call will not be tolerated.

as soon as you two arrived at the party, jaehyun quickly left the vehicle with you still struggling with the seatbelt.

"real classy, jaehyun." you said loud enough, hoping jaehyun would at least look back, but he didn't.

at the very least, jaehyun waited before entering the club. you two did not say anything, and continued walking.

"well, you two look happy." your friend greeted sarcastically, giving each of you a hug, welcoming both of you to the party.

"i need a drink," jaehyun casually said before walking out without even looking at you.

"what a jerk." you muttered, walking in with your friend.

you and jaehyun almost had a perfect relationship, except for the times like this. you'd admit that you're the one who almost always initiate the argument, but there are times that jaehyun would. just like tonight.

"i don't know, he's always mature about this stuff, but tonight he just seems off." you vented to your friend, both of you sitting in the vip area.

you can spot jaehyun across the club, talking to the bartender. he's obviously still pissed, not a slight smile in his face.

"maybe that's because he's right, y/n. it's kinda weird that your ex would choose to call you instead of his other friends that are attending the party." your friend says.

that got you thinking, maybe jaehyun's just worried about you. yes, it may look like he's being shallow, being mad about something so little, but you can't just leave him being mad at you. for two years, jaehyun had always trusted you, never had any problems, just this one time. maybe it's because he has his personal reasons, no?

"i should probably talk to him." you said, which your friend nodded, so you stood up and walked to his direction.

but before you could even get near him, you saw a tall girl approach his side.

weird. you have no idea who this girl is. but jaehyun seems familiar with her.

"-- long time no see, jaehyun." you heard the girl say. you stopped to hear what jaehyun's response is, waiting to see if he actually knew this girl.
