(Btw Aylah has a stutter, but it's a little annoying to type the stutter for every dialogue. I'll only type it when it needs to be prominent for the scene, so just use your imagination.)
"Kayi, shut up and listen!" Aylah whispers sharply, pulling the boy over to the rest of the group. "The bugs have been placed!" Orhan says as he walks over to them, and Melike shushes him.
"It's not a secret prank if you announce it to the whole world, Orhan," Kayi says, pulling the younger boy over as well. Aylah stands on the tips of her toes, spotting Goktug walking to his tent. "Guys, come on!"
They carefully walked behind Goktug, hoping he wouldn't notice them. They watch Goktug enter his tent, before walking out of their spot, waiting for their prank to unfold.
"Ahem,"
Aylah slowly turns around, seeing Gunduz Bey look at them with a slight smile, "Any reason as to why you are following Goktug?" Aylah bites her bottom lip, exchanging a glance with her friends. "Well... You'll see in about 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...."
They wait for a second, and just as Gunduz opens his mouth to speak again, they hear Goktug's voice. "What the... AHHH!!!" Goktug lets out a rather, colorful string of words, making Gunduz snort, and shake his head.
Aylah, Melike, Orhan, and Kayi, however, are practically on the floor in laughter. "We got him so good," Melike wheezes out as Gunduz chuckles. Then, the door opens, revealing a shaken-up Goktug, "Why are bugs in my hat?!" He asks, slightly breathlessly, and Aylah giggles, "Don't know, Emmi."
Goktug narrows his eyes at the girl, opening his mouth to say something when Gunduz cuts in. "They did you good, Goktug. What's going to happen when you encounter bugs on a mission?"
Orhan snickers, "We're helping you!" Goktug scoffs, "One, I was not expecting there to be a spider in my hat, and two, I think I'll be fine without that help." Melike pouts, "That's not nice, we were trying to help."
Goktug smiles, "Right, do you think you can help by getting that spider out of my tent?" Aylah nods, shrugging, "Sure, but can I go scare Baba with it?" Goktug laughs, knowing his friend got startled got easily. "Yeah, please do."
"See, it's harmless!" Aylah defends, holding a rather large spider in her hand, making Gunduz's eyes widen. "Where did you even find that? That thing is huge," "We found it on the ground." Kayi says slowly like his uncle was losing his mind, and Gunduz rolls his eyes, "I know that, Kayi."
"How did you even know whether it was poisonous or not?" Gunduz questions, the conversation reminding him much of his younger brother, Savci, who would always find some strange fact to tell them all every day. "We read about it in a book," Orhan says nonchalantly, and Gunduz's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, "You read... a book? Without me forcing you to?"
Aylah nods, "How else were we supposed to know if it was poisonous or not?" Gunduz just looks at them for a moment before shaking his head, "I'm not going to question that."
It was only mid-day in the Kayi tribe, and things seemed to be at peace. Merchants prepared for the oncoming traders that would be traveling from Europe. The tribe hadn't heard much of the Mongols for a while, and the silence from the east was rather unsettling.
"Do you know where Baba is, Emmi?" Orhan asks, looking up at Gunduz, "In the Marquee." Gunduz replies, watching the kids run off to the front of the tribe. Something felt off today, Gunduz didn't know what. Sogut was strangely silent, the lively mood absent, it seemed like something was destined to arrive.

"Baba, look!" Aylah taps her father's arm, standing close next to him. She held the spider in her other hand behind her back. When Boran turned to look at her, she held the spider out suddenly, making the tall alp jump, startled. "Where- Where did you find that?!" Aylah giggles, holding the spider up as Boran moves away from the little creature.
"Come on, Boran, you can't possibly be scared of a spider," Osman says, shaking his head. "We put one in Goktug Emmi's tent as he screamed like a girl." Melike pipes up with a grin, making Osman laugh, "And these are my best alps?"
Boran crosses his arms with a smile, "Yes, and what would you do without me?" Osman only rolls his eyes, pointedly not replying to Boran.
"We're going to the training field now," Orhan announces and Osman nods, "Go, and Orhan, Melike, be careful, don't start fighting, understand?" He asks in a fatherly manner, raising his eyebrows, and the twins nod.
However, just as the four kids turn to go out the door, Baysungur walks in, a grim expression set on his usually calm face.
"Bey... The Mongols are coming."
