"I beg you, just shut up," The commander's right-hand man groaned in annoyance, hitting the back of his head against the tree he was leaning on. The four grinned, and Melike laughed, "No, I don't feel like shutting up."
Melike's constant talking was a great distraction. Aylah shifted her small dagger against the ropes the dug into her wrists. "Who made your outfit?" Melike asked, and Orhan tilted his head, eyeing the commander's clothes. "Yeah, it doesn't really match, kinda ugly."
"Maybe, it'd work a little better on someone else but you," Aylah pretended to gag, making Orhan snort in amusement.
The man groaned again, before getting up and walking away from them. "Baba was right, this is fun," Melike noted. Kayi rolled his eyes, glancing down at his bound hands, "Fun, sure, that's one way to describe this."
Aylah passed the small dagger into his hands, seeing that her ropes were almost torn. Kayi's lip turned up into a small smile, and he slipped the dagger between his wrists. Aylah turned her head as the commander whose name they had yet to learn walked towards them.
"Oh hey, it's just you, I thought it was someone important," Melike noted nonchalantly, raising her head in acknowledgment.
The commander shook his head, the mocking smile returned to his face, "You all will learn for disrespecting Komutan Pietro." He sneered and Aylah rolled her eyes and mumbled, "That's a dumb name."
"What did you say, little girl?"
"Nothing."
Aylah stared back at him as he turned to her, "Lying is not good, Çocuklar." The sweet tone returned to his voice. "You know what's also not good?" Melike asked, "Kidnapping children."
They were only stalling at this point, Kayi had passed the dagger to the twins and it was only a matter of time. All they had to do is waste time. Lucky for them, they were pretty good at it.
"You wouldn't be here if you hadn't tried to poke your nose in my business," Pietro recalled. "Well, You're on our land, and that automatically makes it my business," Melike retorted.
Orhan looked around carefully, his eyes scanning the premises. Aylah counted the soldiers again, only 8. They could take them.
"What's wrong, Bey Oğlu? Waiting for your father to save you?" Pietro sneered and Orhan smirked, putting on a cheery tone, "No, I think I can save myself." Orhan shook his hands free, launching the small dagger directly into the commander's left arm.
Orhan grinned, turning back to his friend as the soldiers got over their shock, "Let's go!" Aylah shook the torn ropes of her wrists and grabbed her dagger back. She ducked under the soldier's sword, stabbing him with her dagger.
"Well, It was a pleasure meeting you, but I'm afraid we've got to go," Melike called out, giving a mock salute in the commander's direction. Aylah grabbed her arm, "Melike, come on!"
"Back to the Bazaar!" Kayi urged them forward as they ran into the back alleys of Sogut where they couldn't be followed. "Well," Kayi leaned back against the wall, "So much for a boring day?"
Goktug turned the corner, looking slightly relieved when he saw them. "I was looking for you guys-" He looked at the four, who still had their daggers in their hand, trying to catch their breath. "Where have you guys been?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at them, making the four exchange glances.
"Um..."
Goktug's blue eyes flickered between them, "You were running from something. Tell me what happened."
"Okay, okay, fine, we'll tell you."
Not too long after, they were back in Sogut's Inn, explaining the same exact story over again. Osman Bey stroked his beard in thought as the four sat on one of the benches. "So, his name is Pietro?" He tried to recall the name, but shook his head, leaning forward. "What you didn't tell me was why you thought it was a good idea to follow them in the first place."
"To be fair, Baba, Kayi, and I just followed Orhan and Aylah," Melike put in and Orhan scoffed, "Seriously, Melike?" Osman Bey chose to ignore the exchange, still waiting for a response.
"We just wanted to see where he would take the message. And then when we saw where he put the message, we wanted to see who would pick it up." Aylah said slowly, and Orhan nodded, "And we got out fine, Baba."
"Orhan," His tone was firm, but he didn't necessarily sound angry, "You got out fine, but would've happened if one of you didn't have a dagger?" He sighed once, before standing up straight again. "Look, now they know your faces. You have to be careful. We don't know who this man is or what he is capable of. Understood?"
The four nodded. He was right. They had no idea what that man was capable of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"My Lord, are you alright?" The soldier asked anxiously, flinching as Pietro slammed his hand against the table, furiously. "I'm fine," He turned around to see the soldier still standing there. "Why are you still here? Get out!"
"Antonio," "Yes, Komutan?" His right-hand man took a step forward as the soldier scurried out. "Those children will pay for humiliating me. Find out who those other two kids are, immediately."
"As you order, Komutan."
A/N: Oooh things are getting interesting. To be honest, Pietro's just salty about Melike's wonderful comebacks-
And here are the fabulous four's personality traits
Aylah- ISFP-T "The Adventurer"
Melike- ENTP-T "The Debator" (Please read about Melike's type, I swear it's the funniest and most accurate thing)
Orhan- ENFP-T "The Campaigner"
Kayi- INFJ-T "The Advocate"
(Fun Fact: Kayi and I have the same personality.)
In conclusion, Kayi and Aylah are very much introverts. The twins are obviously not. This was really interesting to do, and I think it'll help me know my characters better. I already have tons planned after doing these tests. You should be scared.
Anyway, I hope you all are doing well as covid started to spike again. So please, stay safe and wear a mask.
Salaam and Have a great day!
