shg day 4: the ballad of engies and pits

Story time! Today I'll tell you about my first ever death in TF2. I was playing Upward as a RED Engineer using the full stock loadout because it was my first game. During setup time, I went to last to set up a nest. (At the time, I thought Engies were untouchable gods if they turtled on last. Yeah, I was pretty bad back then.) I started to build my nest in the balcony next to that one exit out of RED'S spawn that's, like, super tiny and goes straight to C. When I ran out of metal, I decided to be a idiot, try to be cool, and jump off the railing to land on the first floor—instead of just going straight backwards to spawn. Unfortunately, this was way back when I didn't know how to air strafe. So I fell into the pit and died.

Moral of the story: don't kill yourself by falling into a giant, clearly noticeable hole in the ground within the first minute of the game starting. It makes you look like a stupid noob, and it puts an extremely embarrassing death message in the kill feed.

Okay, now that TF2's out of the way, let the game continue!

In this day, two moments stood out to me. Here's one of them:

Remember that IDFB 1 edit where Firey's scream is extended to 15 minutes? Good times.

"A life for a life. My debt is repaid."
