Foundation

The principal ordered us to go to our designated booths after the opening program. I immediately change my clothes before proceeding to the music club. May mga nakalatag na tent sa garden para sa mga clubs at booths. Our club is assigned to the karaoke booth, obviously. Mayroon din jail booth, marriage booth, at iba pa.

I still can't believe what happened. I felt a different sensation in my heart when the students showed how much they love our band and the fact that they accept me as a new member. Ang saya. Idagdag mo pa na nandito sila mommy and daddy kanina.

I walk towards my parents when we finished performing three songs. They both wearing formal clothes. Mom hugs me with a smile on her face while Dad nods at me. This is new. This is different.

"I thought you can't watch my performance?" tanong ko.

ㅤ

Mommy chuckled and caressed my hair. Some students who are going to the booths are looking at us.

ㅤ

"Papalagpasin ba namin 'to? We want to surprise you. Besides, may pupuntahan din kaming business meeting kaya dinaanan narin namin."

ㅤ

That explains why they're wearing formal attire. I look at my dad. He still looks serious with his strict face but I can see happiness in his eyes. Siya naman ang humaplos sa buhok ko, "You look so happy on stage, anak."

"Thank you, Daddy."

ㅤ

He nods at me again and looks at his watch then to my mom, "Should we go now? Dadaan ulit kami mamaya sa bahay pag pabalik na kami."

I nod at him too and hugs mommy one more time. Kung panaginip man 'to sana hindi na 'ko magising.

I'm not really the emotional type but I don't what's happening with me this past few days that these simple acts they are doing to me make me teary-eyed. The way my dad just called me 'anak' feels like I'm on cloud nine. I just realize that I'm so lucky. I have friends, the students here appreciates me, my parents love me, and I'm living a luxurious life. I guess I can't ask for more.

"You can ask your friends to go to our house later, Hyacinth. We'll prepare a simple celebration for your debut in your band." si Mommy.

I shook my head, "Kahit wag na po,"

"Anong hindi? We should celebrate this! 'Wag ka na makulit at ayain mo nalang sila mamaya. And I bet they'll also like that idea."

Hindi na ako nakipagtalo kila Mommy. Kaya pag-alis nila ay dumiretso agad ako dito sa booth expecting Moonchild to be here since mas nauna akong umalis kanina sa backstage para makapagpalit ng damit. I'll ask them about mommy's offer.

Ngunit nakarating at nakaupo na 'ko dito sa booth ay wala padin sila. Mga officers lang ng music club ang nandito at mukhang may inaayos. I can also hear other students singing in the karaoke beside this booth. Kaya medyo maingay.
