†††††"Ohh come on. What are you even so shocked about? You have already figured it out that it was me." Nyx said in an arrogant tone, rolling her eyes at Issac.
He didn't say anything, just kept staring at the her with an unreadable emotion in his eyes. His brows were furrowed. His jaw was clenched and palms were balled into a fist by his sides.
Ezra was looking back and forth between them with concern. While the people in Issac's group just looked Nyx up and down, wondering why she kept her face hidden when she was so beautiful.
They thought there was something wrong with her face and that's why she kept it covered. But a normal, young girl's face stared back at them, making them almost half-laugh despite the situation at the realisation of how wrong they were.
Her short, black hair and brown eyes that had hints of blue, her wheat-ish complex and slight jawline and cheekbones, everything made her appearance attractive and despite not having any special feature to her, she was indeed beautiful.
Everyone was quite, waiting for Issac to respond but he didn't. Instead he started walking towards the door and Jayden tried to stop him.
"Don't stop him. Let him run. From his past. From me. That's what he is good at." Nyx said stopping him dead in his tracks. He was breathing heavily now, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he took deep breaths to control his anger.
He turned around and gave her an intense death stare. It was scary enough to make anyone's heart stop but Nyx seemed unbothered by it. She folded her hands together and deadpanned at him.
"You know what? You are a hypocrite. Looking like you are shocked when I should be the one to be shocked. I should be surprised that you managed to survive all these years. Tell me, how did you manage it?" She said with a pause before continuing, "By running?" She asked with an arrogant smile.
He kept staring at her with anger now visible in his eyes and slowly walked towards her. He looked down at her as they stood face to face while everyone else quitely watched them.
"Is this all a joke to you?" He asked in a menacingly low tone with a face so serious it demanded an answer.
"Do you see me laughing?" Nyx replied with just as much menace and seriousness, all the arrogance now gone.
"Three years. And you have the guts to now stand in front of me and laugh?"
"What do you want me to do? Cry? Beg for your forgiveness?" She said as her eyes burned with anger and sneered in a dramatic way, "Ohh my lord, forgive me for I have committed an eternal sin. How will I ever be able to meet your gaze now?" And within seconds she went back to being serious and arrogant.
"Three years or thirty. What does it matter to you? You made your choice. You left me to die there." She snapped at him.
"I did no such thing." He growled back at her.
"Oh, the bullet wounds on my chest would beg to differ. You saw them. Aren't they beautiful?" She sneered.
"Ohh God. This is bad." Ezra thought to herself.
