"Be quiet. Don't make any noise and go stand in that corner," Nyx whispered to all of them pointing towards a wall in the corner on their right.

"What the hell is wrong? Why are you whispering?" Aiden asked close to her ears.

"Just do as you are told," she whispered again and gave them a death stare that almost stopped their hearts and they soon obliged.

Nyx drew her swords out without making a sound and moved along with the group as they changed their angles and positions to make sure she'd be the first line of defense.

They were slowly and stealthily moving towards the corner when one of them screeched in pain as he stumbled and twisted his ankle.

The screech echoed in the damp-dark building with next to no light, along with multiple vicious and loud growls.

"Fuck!" That was all Nyx managed to say as they all heard loud, clear footsteps running towards them from various sides. They couldn't see properly because their view was obstructed by a wall in front and also the charcoal black darkness. The only source of vision were the two gates on either end of the wall to where they were moving and the faint light from their flashlights.

"Run away from me. Go to the other side. But don't make any noise," she screamed this time, making some space between her and the rest of the group as she made her way to the right gate.

"We are not---" Issac started only to get interrupted by Nyx, "Just fucking do it." She screamed again.

Before the rest of the group could react, she lifted her left sword to block and with a swift, clean cut by her right sword mutilated the head of whatever was in front of her.

The lifeless head rolled and touched Aiden's foot and he quickly kicked it away after staring at it for a few seconds, trying to make sense of what the thing was.

"Guys move," Issac ordered while aiming with his gun towards the right door where Nyx was fighting. The guys moved to the other side without much noise.

"We can help her." One of them voiced.

"It's too dark in here and these flashlights aren't much help. It would be hell if you shoot her instead of helping her. So, don't. I will help her. You just take cover and don't let your guard down." Issac said in a low voice.

On the other side, Nyx was dodging and slicing, driving her blades into things that were gross enough to make anyone puke.

Issac moved forward from the left gate and aimed at the creatures that were very near to Nyx and on her blind spot. He fired the gun, killing two of them but also gained their attention in the process. All of the creatures ran towards him, giving an ear-piercing shriek that made Nyx flinch.

Nyx saw the creatures running towards him but didn't move. She needed a few seconds at least, to recover and think. Issac, on the other hand, shot down another few of them but they still overpowered him with their sheer numbers.

They both had killed about a dozen of them but it looked like their numbers weren't going down.

The rest of the people had no idea what was going on as they could only hear mixed noises and couldn't see anything.

Nyx clashed her blades together making a loud clanging sound that resonated in the whole place, drawing the creatures' attention and ran towards the other side of what seemed like a hall.
