"Althea?" She came out of her trance as she heard her name. Slowly looking behind her, she found Jayden walking towards her.
"Did you hear about the meeting Markus is doing with their leader, George?" He asked and seeing her expressions didn't change, he knew she had already heard about it.
She nodded in response.
"Ezra is still angry with me!" They both heard Dylan say as he approached and stood between them.
"Of course she is. And you should thank your guardian angel that she is just angry and didn't kill you already after what you said to her." Jayden said as if it was obvious.
"Come on. You too? I get it. I fucked up. But I was angry."
"Ohh you don't get to get out of this mess by saying you were angry." Althea stated and shrugged in a 'you are an asshole and you are getting what you deserve' manner.
"You are supposed to say it's gonna be okay. She will come around." Dylan muttered, deadpanning at her.
"I ain't saying shit like that," Althea responded coldly.
"What good are you then?" He squinted his eyes and scrunched up at her, "Anyways, I heard Markus is meeting with their leader?" His voice and expressions changed to curious.
"Yup. He is." Jayden answered and Dylan raised a brow, impressed.
"Why is he doing it though?" Jayden asked confused.
"To avoid unnecessary bloodshed and save innocent lives." She replied lowly.
"Ahh...that makes sense. After all, someone has to worry about the unnecessary bloodshed because some people here are fucking psychopaths!" Dylan said looking at Althea with a sly smile.
"Am I supposed to be offended by that?" Althea asked, uninterested.
"Nope."
"I think he is doing the right thing," Jayden responded.
"Right thing? There's nothing right about this whole situation." Dylan replied.
"As much as I hate to agree, he is right." They heard a feminine voice and saw Ezra walking towards them. She came and stood near Althea, staring at Dylan.
"I will go, stand there." He said nervously, pointing at the space opposite him.
"This situation is wrong?" Althea asked feigning confusion, "What gave it away Dylan?" She asked again in an innocent, low voice, keeping her face straight.
"Well, since I heard about this thing, I have been thinking that someone else could be involved in -" Dylan started.
"What? No snarky comebacks?" Althea widened her eyes and took a sharp intake of breath mockingly.
"Yeah. You might wanna go with 'I can't do anything if you are stupid' or yet even better, 'I can't do anything if you are useless' or was it 'It's not my fault if you are useless'?" Ezra said giving him a sweet, mocking smile.
"Okay, I heard you both but chose to ignore." He replied.
"Of course you did," Ezra replied in a sing-song manner.
"If you are done mocking me?" Dylan retorted.
"Of course..." Ezra responded sympathetically before saying, "not!"
