Author's Pov
"You?"
Bela's eyes widened seeing the person before her. Before she could speak or scream, he pulled her towards him and covered her mouth with his hands making her eyes widen in shock. She started struggling only for him to tighten his hold on her.
'There is no way he could be here. Well he is not supposed to be here. He should be at his house with his brother, her future husband.' Bela thought bitterly looking at Mahir.
"Shh! don't struggle, Bela. I mean no harm. I just came here to discuss something important. Please." He said making her stop struggling.
"I am gonna remove my hand but please don't shout." Bela nodded looking at him.
Mahir slowly removed his hand from her mouth looking into her eyes. He gluped audiobly as his eyes took in her half-naked form. The robe covering her body did no effort in covering her long milky legs. He wondered what else she had been hiding under her clothes.
Many sinister thoughts started clouding in his mind making him want nothing more than to undress and make love to her. The clearing sound of throat distracted him before he could do what his heart want. Shaking his head Mahir looked at Bela with a sheepish smile.
"What are you doing here in my bedroom, Mahirji? You should be with your brother, helping him with our upcoming wedding instead of barging into your future sister-in-law's bedroom." Bela taunted, crossing her hands on her chest.
Mahir flinched hearing the words used by Bela. He looked into Bela's eyes only to find them cold and emotionless. He could clearly feel the anger in Bela's each words and he knew no one but he, himself was responsible for her change.
"Bela, I'm sorry. I-" He started only to cut off by Bela's mirthless chuckle.
"Sorry? Mahir ji you are sorry, but for what? For leading me on, when you had no feelings for me or for forcing me to marry your brother. Tell me, Mahirji. What all are you sorry for? Are you sorry for destroying my life or sorry for playing with my feelings?" Her voice cracking at the end.
Mahir didn't know what to say. In his selfishness, he forgot that he was hurting the woman he loved. He forgot that she was a human with feelings too. His eyes stinged with unshed tears.
