Author's pov

Bela descended down the stairs with Bani and Ichha at either sides of her. Her eyes were casted down people might think it was because of shyness but truth be told she was trying to hide the pain in her eyes. She looked no less than a princess in the pink lehenga. People looked at her with their mouth parted.

Bela looked around the decorated hall taking in all the familiar faces. Her eyes seemed to be searching for someone unknown to herself. She felt herself going weak as her eyes meet with Mahir's dark brown eyes.

Mahir looked into Bela's eyes which held so much pain in them. He wanted nothing more than to ease the pain she feels. He wanted to pull her into a hug and whisper sweet words into her ears but the reality of the situation hit made him helpless. And that's when the words of Rocky started echoing in his ears.

"I don't want you near Bela."

"She is going to be my wife."

" I don't want my own brother misbehaving with Bela."

"Stay away from Bela, Mahir."

He looked into Bela's eyes with hatred evident in his eyes. Clenching his fist he averted his gaze from her. His knuckles turning white due to the pressure.

Bela didn't know how to describe the pain she felt when Mahir looked at her with hatred filled eyes. What sin did she do in her past life that she is suffering so much in this birth. She felt her eyes stinging with tears. She stood there looking at Mahir with glassy eyes. Bela stood there lost in her thoughts looking at Mahir.

Ichha pressed Bela's hand slightly signaling her to move forward. Faking a smile, Bela walked towards the stage, where Rocky was standing with a smug smile on his face.

Rocky looked like he had won something. O'words can't express the happiness he is feeling now. His victory over Mahir. Something which he had been carving for a while. He stood on the stage silently enjoying his victory while two souls were burning in the fire of agony.
