Next Day
Bani looked at her best friend who was laughing happily, without any kind of fear or sadness in her eyes. She was glad her best friend was finally enjoying herself instead of walking around like a zombie. She was no more the bubbly girl Bani knew. She had turned into a completely different person. Bani couldn't help but sigh as she through back to the depressing days her best friend went through.
She knew Bela from her childhood. Bela and her were the kind of best friends who won't let go of the other for anything. The ones who used to pass the day with each other in serious and inconsequential chatter. The ones wouldn't mind washing up and dusting beside each other. They always had each others back. There were days when they would become a shoulder to cry for each other. They had shared everything in their lives. They had no secrets between them until Mahir came into the picture.
Mahir became the reason for her constant fights with Bela. There was a time when she hated Mahir. No, she was not possessive or jealous. Mahir and his friends didn't really have a very good profile in their college and she was scared that Bela would unknowingly fall in his trap and end up losing herself. She was just looking out for her best friend. Then things started changing when she and Veer started going out.
She started spending more time with Mahir and understood that he was not what the rumors potrayed him to be. Mahir turned out to be a great guy. He became a brother like figure for her, someone whom she could call at midnight and complaint about Veer. His place changed for Mahir to Mahir bhai. That one year not just her but Bela too had started being close to him. Honestly she didn't mind them becoming a couple. She was secretly hopping for them to end up together.
Everything was fine until the marriage proposal. She was shocked out of her wits when she came to know about it. She couldn't believe Mahir bhai would hurt Bela like that because she had seen the genuine love in his eyes. And it was her who encouraged Bela to meet him and confess her feeling but it too turned out to be useless. She, herself even tried to talk to him, make him understand but the mad was so stubborn in his decision.
She was so close to betting up Mahir for breaking her best friend's heart. If it wasn't for her Veer, she would have personally made sure that Mahir had landed himself in hospital. She was glad that Mahir bhai had finally decided to open up about his feeling and setting Bela out of her shell.
Bani stood near the window lost in her thoughts when she felt two cold hands slithering on her waist. With a gasp she turned around only to find her fiance standing behind her with a smirk on his handsome face. He moved more closer to her in a way trapping her in between himself and the window.
"Veer? what? No. What the hell are you doing here, Veer? And most importantly why the hell are you hugging me in the middle of the corridor? Veer leave me, anyone can walk in and see us like this." Bani struggled to free herself from Veer's tight grip.
"Bani, Bani, Bani, here I'm seeing you after a gap of whole twelve hours and you without any sympathy shooing me away from you because unknown people. Bani darling, if you forget let me remind you that I'm your official fiance and not some road side romeo." He complaint childdishly making Bani chuckle.
"Acha, sorry baba. I forgot. Thank you for reminding me." She replied sarcastically, pulling away from him.
