Chapter 2:: Safe

Author's POV:

"Oh a-" You were about to talk but he suddenly shut you up with his palm and dragged you behind the bushes.
"Why would you-" You were going to ask him when he gestured you to stop talking with a 'shh' as you heard 2 men talking.

'We don't have human blood for so long.'
'We can't have it according to the deal you know.'
'Yeah yeah. Being the so-called bloodsuckers and not being able to have blood.'
'Wait I think I smell humans.'

Your eyes widened as Taehyung quickly hugged you. The bloodsuckers came towards you but returned as if they didn't see you.

"Safe." Taehyung mumbled still hugging you as you looked down while a red tint covered your cheeks.
"Y-you can let go now." You said as he quickly backed away.
"S-sorry." He said shyly as you smiled.
"How come they didn't see us?" You mumbled but he just smiled a little looking away.
"We were invisible." He said as you looked at him confused.
"How? Are you a magician?" You asked as he chuckled.
"No.. I- I...know spells." He hesitantly said. Although it felt suspicious, you decided to shrug it off.
"Thank you very much." You said as he nodded.
"And will you teach me magic too?" You asked as he said, "You don't have to... I am here." making you giggle.

-At night-

"Won't your mother scold you? You have been with me all day." He asked staring at the moon as you nodded smiling.
"I don't care. Let her scold me all she wants. At least I am happy." You said as he smiled.
"Does happiness matter so much?" He asked as you nodded.
"How can you enjoy your life without happiness?" You asked as he just listened to you.
"Life is so short. We never know when we might die. So it's good to do something which makes you happy. Even if you get some scoldings and beating later on." You laughed as he laughed with you.
"You heal me." He said as you looked at him confused.
"What?" You asked as he just softly shook his head before closing his eyes while you both were lying on the grass. You looked at him, his skin glowing under the moonlight.

Though you sometimes couldn't help but wonder why his skin was so pale and he was cold, you didn't want to ask him questions since it might make him uncomfortable.

You felt your stomach doing flip flaps seeing his side profile but you gulped looking away.

-Next Morning-

"Aish!" You groaned before getting up and started hitting your hand in the air as you saw Taehyung sitting there, his back facing you. He looked back seeing you groan.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"These mosquitoes bit me!" You said showing him the red mark on your hand as he looked at a mosquito with an intense gaze which later fell off and died.
"Oh my! H-how?!" You took a closer look at the mosquito.
"Aren't you happy? It was biting you. Now it died." He said as you shook your head.
"It's not their fault though. Even if I complain about them, it's not like I would want them to die. They live on our blood and that's why they bite us. But it's just how God created them. I don't like seeing them die." You said looking down as he looked at the mosquito then you. You could see some kind of emotion in his eyes, more like pain and desperation. But you didn't know what it was.

-time skip-

"Are you sure you don't want to go home yet?" He asked as you nodded.
"Why? Do you want me to leave you alone?" You asked as he shook his head before smiling.
"Women of this century are so shy and quarantined but you are so different." He said as you chuckled.
"Do you like shy and quarantined women?" You asked as he shook his head before smiling.
"Why?" You asked as he replied sadly smiling, "I can't like someone."
"Huh? Ohh! So your parents will make you marry a stranger?" You asked as he laughed before declining.
"Just forget it." He said as you nodded.

"What do you think about bloodsuckers?" He suddenly asked as you looked at him confused.
"This morning, you were saying that it's not mosquito's fault that they drink blood. God made them like this. So, what do you think about bloodsuckers?" He asked.
"I don't know much about them. Not everyone is bad. I think there are some good bloodsuckers too. It depends on what type of people- I mean the bloodsuckers they are. Not Like I am supposed to interact with one anyway!" You said as he nodded looking down.

"Sorry mother." You said as she scolded you for the 838th time this hour for being outside of the home for an entire day and an entire night.
"You shall not leave the house for 1 week straight!" She said as your eyes widened.
"Mother!" You called her but she just glared at you before replying, "I shall not hear anything you say."

-At night-

"Am I really quarantined?" You sighed before looking out of the window of your bedroom to see someone standing outside the back of the house.
"Who is it- T-Taehyung?" Your eyes almost popped out of the socket as he waved at you smiling under the moonlight.

You were surprised that he knew your address. He just waved at you smiling under the moonlight as you looked here and there to see if anyone saw him.
"Goo!!!" You whispered signalling him to go away as you saw him laughing while you were scared like hell if your mother saw him.
"GO!" You again said as he left soon giving you a wave.
"He surely is mysterious. But how did he know where I live? I never gave him the exact address of my house.." You asked yourself before shrugging it off and going to sleep thinking it would've slipped out of your mouth.

-1 week later-

It had been a week and you were still quarantined as per your mother but you didn't feel bored.
Because every night, he would come and see you from your window while you did the same.
You'd wait every day for him to come at night and the excitement made your days pass away easier.

"Y/N." Your mother called as you looked at her confused.
"You might go out from now on." She said as you smiled happily before hugging her and when you were about to go, she said something putting you in thought.

"Don't let your childishness get you in trouble." was the last thing you heard before you went out.

You ran through the fields towards the forests. Running hastily, you reached near the middle of the forest as you saw him sitting on a rock, his back facing you.
"Hey! I hope I'm not late." You said as he smiled at you before saying, "It's fine. Do you want to play?" He asked as you nodded happily.
"1..2..3!" You said jumping as he laughed following you.
"My turn." He said throwing a stone and ran towards the other side but you didn't see him anymore.
"Huh? Where did he run.." You mumbled but flinched when you felt a tap on your shoulder.

"You startled me!" You said looking at Taehyung who chuckled before saying, "Oops, sorry."
"How did you run so fast?!" You asked as he replied, "I just... ran. You were blinking too slowly." He said as you looked at him not understanding a thing.
"What?" You asked but he didn't reply before passing you a smile.

"I am not that great with lying.." He mumbled walking away from you while you stood there confused.
"Yah! Wait for me!" You said as you both sat on a rock together talking and laughing.

"Do you want to know something?" He asked as you nodded. Suddenly he took out a paper handing it to you. You opened it but your smile soon faded and got replaced by a confused expression.
"What is this?" You asked.
"A letter." He said.
"I can't read." You said as he facepalmed himself before asking, "Do you want me to teach you?"
"Sure!" You said as he smiled at you.
