Guess what guys. I'm making the terrible decision to update less than 24 hours after the last update, but it's okay because you guys will hate me.
I noticed a huge plot hole in this story, which is that right after the Onderon arc, Depa Billaba and Caleb Dume were killed by the Winter Jedi, who 1) was still ahsoka and 2) Ahsoka wouldn't be the Winter Jedi yet, so we're gonna pretend that they went there a year after that arc, because I never specified when after, but now I am and I lazily fixed a plot hole.
What Rex saw when he spun around was not what he was expecting. He was expecting the Winter Jedi of course, but he also thought there'd be lots of battle droids. Instead, he saw a Togruta with blue eyes, like Ahsoka's, blue and white lekku, and orange skin. And she had a metal arm. She was slightly over 5'4", and looked like she was in her late teens to early twenties. Way too young to be fighting the way she did.
She was wearing dark grey pants, with a slightly lighter grey shirt that had a chest protection plate sewed onto it. Her shirt sleeves were long, except for her left side, which had none due to her threatening metal arm, which honestly scared him.
That wasn't in the report. Was all Rex could think as he stared at the metal arm.
"That's the Winter Jedi, isn't it." Anakin said grimly.
"That would be a fair assumption." Obi-Wan nodded slowly.
"What about the arm?" Anakin sighed dramatically.
"Everyone left it out." Rex answered.
The Winter Jedi's hands shot to her belt on her waist. She grabbed her lightsabers, and ignited them. Her lightsabers were blood red, which confused Rex because she had blue eyes still. Only Sith use red lightsabers, and they always had red eyes.
She then positioned herself into a ready position with one of her lightsabers, her shoto, in a backwards grip, while her other one was in her hand normally. She got low to the ground with her feet spread apart perfectly. You could tell that she'd done duels like this before.
As soon as the Winter Jedi moved towards Anakin and Obi-Wan, swinging her menacing lightsabers, the two Jedi had their lightsabers out, ready to block her attacks, which were shockingly precise.
Rex looked at the Winter Jedi, to Anakin and Obi-Wan, unsure if he should put his blasters down or not. If he could just find an opening to hit the Winter Jedi they'd be able to complete the mission. Unfortunately, that wouldn't happen. The Winter Jedi was way too fast, and she was good at keeping Anakin or Obi-Wan in between her and Rex.
The Winter Jedi ducked under Anakin's swing at her chest, then elbowed him in the face. She then lifted her shoto blade, which was in her metal hand, into Obi-Wan's legs. He just barely jumped over it. Of course, then he had to duck under the Winter Jedi's other lightsaber, which she shot at his head.
Rex had to admit, the Winter Jedi was good. She kept the upper hand for most of this fight, and barely broke a sweat. It was as if she trained every single day for a few hours.
While Rex was distracted, the Winter Jedi began to draw the battle attention over to where he was, and accidentally slashed his arm with a lightsaber.
"AHHHHHH!" Rex yelled in shock and pain.
"Rex!" Anakin's eyes widened in surprise. The Jedi pushed the Winter Jedi into the opposite wall, and ran over to his clone commander.
Rex looked back at the Winter Jedi, expecting to find her looking smug at her work, but she looked hurt, and guilty, as if she felt bad about hurting him.
"Anakin, you can handle Rex, I'll try to hold off the Winter Jedi." Obi-Wan decided.
Anakin nodded. "Rex, are you okay?"
Rex laughed. "I can walk, sir."
"How do you know?" Anakin asked.
"Because we need to get out of here." Rex replied. "We can deal with my arm later."
Anakin seemed reluctant, but he still went with it. He helped Rex get up, and looked over to Obi-Wan, who was really struggling. "Obi-Wan!" He called. "We need to go!"
Obi-Wan glanced one last time at the Winter Jedi before using the Force to push her into a wall, then he ran. Anakin and Rex were right behind him, but were a little slower.
As the three of them escaped, Rex could hear the Winter Jedi receiving a message from someone with an old, dying voice. The only words he could make out was: new mission, complete, and kill him. He didn't think much of it though, there were more important things to worry about, like getting out of this place.
"I'll tell Cody we're coming." Obi-Wan offered before trying to contact his commander. "Blast! There's no signal."
Anakin sighed to himself. "Figures."
Finally, after about fifteen minutes, they finally found the exit.
"Obi-Wan, you first." Anakin ordered.
Obi-Wan seemed to go up the ladder just fine, but he had a little difficulty opening the door.
"Obi-Wan!" Cody said once the door opened.
"Cody!" Obi-Wan smiled. "Can I get a little help?"
Cody nodded, and helped pull Obi-Wan out of the secret tunnel.
"Thanks." Obi-Wan thanked Cody.
"Rex, you go next." Anakin decided.
Rex nodded, and began to slowly climb up the ladder. It hurt, a little, because of his arm, but when he got close enough, Cody began to help him, and eventually pulled him out of the secret tunnel.
Anakin went next. He climbed up easily, but slipped once at the top. He almost fell, but Obi-Wan caught his arm, and he got out of the secret tunnel too.
"Glad we don't need to go there again." Anakin joked.
"Yeah, really." Rex agreed.
"Rex, your arm." Cody noticed. "What happened?"
"The Winter Jedi." Rex answered. "Where's the bacta patches?"
Cody smiled nervously. "The Separatists left the base as soon as you were in the secret tunnel. They blew up the ship. I only have one bacta patch with me."
Rex felt like the whole world was spinning. His arm thankfully wasn't bleeding, due to it being a lightsaber wound, but it could still easily get infected, and they didn't have a way off the planet. This mission was a disaster.
"You're joking." Anakin accused.
Cody shook his head. "I'm not, unfortunately. The Twilight II is gone."
Anakin looked so heartbroken, it was almost funny.
Obi-Wan stepped in between the two. "Even though we may not have a way off this planet, we should still try to survive."
"He's right." Rex agreed. "We need to send a message or something."
"And we need to avoid the Winter Jedi." Anakin added. "She was a lot of work."
Cody smirked. "Then let's get moving."
That's 1k words, so I am pleased with myself.
I didn't really mean to explode the ship, but it happened anyway. Deal with it.
I'm not joking, that's not in the notes I have for this story.
Have a good day/night or time on an alien planet.
