I know I said I wouldn't be active for a few days because of reasons, but I got this sudden motivation, and had to write this.

Anakin impatiently waited outside the clone medical bay on Coruscant. It was where Rex was getting medical attention for his infection.

Anakin had already gotten a new mechanical hand from his hand collection, and just had to wait for Rex to be fine now.

"Anakin, calm down." Obi-Wan suggested from the seat next to him. "Rex will be fine."

Well I've already lost my sister, and I'm not too intent on losing my brother too. Anakin wanted to say, instead, he said, "Rex is like my brother. I don't want to lose him."

"He will be fine, Anakin. The clone medics inside are very skilled." Obi-Wan pointed out.

Before Anakin could reply, one of the medical clones exited the room with Rex in it.

"Captain Rex will heal just fine, but he'll need bed rest for a week. Then, we will reevaluate our decision." He said.

"Let me see him." Anakin demanded.

The clone nodded, and moved aside to let Anakin and Obi-Wan see Rex.

Rex was lying unconscious on a bed, his left arm was bandaged all the way up and elevated. He still had a few bruises, but to be fair, they all had a few bruises from that mission.

Anakin sat by Rex's bed. Obi-Wan did the same on the other side of the bed while the medical clones shuffled out of the room.

The awkward silence was too much for Anakin.

"The Winter Jedi is strong." He stated.

Obi-Wan nodded in agreement. "She's young, though. It shouldn't be impossible to find a weakness, and she doesn't have our level experience."

"True." Anakin agreed.

"I sensed everything in the Force. Most of it was blurred, though. Very confused." Obi-Wan muttered half to himself, half to Anakin.

"Are you the one confused, or is she?" Anakin wondered, using his voice.

"Both, I suppose." Obi-Wan shrugged. "She fought hard, though. Whoever is training her is very talented."

Anakin snorted. "That's for sure. It all seemed very calculated, as if she was following an algorithm. It almost felt like she was a robot, or something. Maybe a bit more creative, obviously."

"I think you are judging her too harshly." Obi-Wan said. "Her movements may be very calculated, however she is still a kid. What's most likely is that someone is manipulating her, and training her to be like this. It's likely the same person who is teaching her to fight."

"She almost killed Rex! I don't care how old she is or what stuff she goes through! We are going to bring her to justice!" Anakin shouted angrily.

Rex, who was still unconscious, moved slightly at the sound of his name.

"And by justice, you mean death?" Obi-Wan assumed.

"Well, of course." Anakin shrugged. "She's a monster who's killed tons of Jedi."

Obi-Wan frowned. "You really think that she deserves death? Killing her is not the Jedi way."

"Well maybe it should be." Anakin huffed, and stormed out of the room, leaving Obi-Wan to think about what he said alone.

...

Anakin knew Obi-Wan didn't get it. The Winter Jedi has done so many horrible things. Why does she deserve to live while everyone she killed doesn't? It didn't make sense to him. If she died, they'd be getting rid of a murderer. It made him so angry.

He knocked on Padme's door before realizing he didn't have to.

"Anakin!" Padme threw the door open. "I missed you! R2 and 3PO are both out getting some groceries for me, so don't worry about them interrupting us."

Anakin hugged his wife. "I missed you too. Did you hear what happened?"

Padme nodded. "I was devastated when I heard. Is Rex alright?"

"He's stable, but he hasn't woken up yet. The doctors say he'll be fine." Anakin replied.

"Good." Padme sighed in relief, and led Anakin inside her apartment. "Do you have any ideas as to where the Winter Jedi could be?"

Anakin shook his head. "No, but she kept mentioning something about completing the mission. I have no idea what it could mean."

"Well, it sounds like she has a mission and needs to complete it." Padme said. "No matter what."

"I knew it was a good thing I told you about this mission." Anakin sat down on the couch.

Padme joined him, but they were cut off by a large explosion in the apartment.

Anakin felt himself get pushed back into the wall, and grunted as his back hit it. The flames danced across his blurred vision as the heat pressed up against his skin. He could see a small frame lying on the ground a few meters away. It could only be Padme.

He crawled over to her, trying to keep the smoke out of his face, but it was already making him cough relentlessly and make his eyes burn. He could barely see what was in front of him or even breathe easily. Coughs and fire cracklings filled up his eardrums.

"Padme!" He cried out as he reached her form. She was unconscious, however her chest was still moving. She was alive.

Anakin looked around the apartment trying to figure out who bombed the place. All he saw was walls crumbling down in the fire and smoke all around everything. It was impossible to figure out anything.

A moment later, a group of people—probably medics and firemen, ran in. The medics ran over to him and Padme. They lifted the two of them off the ground and onto little beds that they could carry while the firemen attempted to put out the fire. The main one seemed to be barking out orders. She seemed pretty good at it too.

"Hey you, Jedi." One of the medics said to him. "It's okay, you can rest now.

The last thing he saw was the medics, and then Padme receiving chest compressions.

...

Obi-Wan had been drinking tea next to Rex's bed when he heard the news of the attack on Anakin and Padme's life. He almost choked on the tea.

"Are they okay?" He asked.

"Skywalker seems to be fine. It shouldn't take too long for him to heal, but Amidala is in a worse condition." Mace Windu said. "You shouldn't worry. Skywalker will be fine, and you don't need to know about Amidala."

Obi-Wan nodded slowly, still processing the news, but annoyed Mace Windu wouldn't tell him how Padme was. "Where are they both now?"

"Skywalker is currently in the Coruscant Main Hospital, however will be moved here, to the Temple, in about an hour. Amidala will stay there until recovery." Mace Windu answered. "And no, they are not receiving visitors currently, but the doctors do want you to help transport Skywalker here."

Obi-Wan nodded along slowly. "Of course I'll help."

"Be at the hospital in fifteen minutes." Then, Mace Windu left, feeling satisfied with his work.

"Oh, Force, what has the Winter Jedi done this time?" Obi-Wan muttered to himself quietly. It was all falling apart.
