Clove let out a small sigh as she made her way through the doors of the auditorium, teeth clamped down on her bottom lip. Her stomach did a flip when her eyes darted across the room, landing on every hopeful actor and actress there. When she caught sight of a certain tall blonde boy, she couldn't help but feel a little bit better about the whole situation. Cato came, like he said he would. At least she wasn't going through with this alone.

Cato turned his head and locked eyes with her, and Clove felt her cheeks heating up. She tore her gaze away in attempt to mask it, but there was no doubt in her mind that Cato saw her blush.

"Hey, Sevina!" he called out to her, making his way towards her. "Hey, Hadley," she said in response, her voice a tad bit shaky. If he noticed, he didn't say anything to acknowledge it.

"So, I see you've decided to audition after all," Cato pointed out with a grin, taking a seat with Clove. "I would like to believe it's because I would be your Romeo. Which, isn't all that surprising considering how irresistible I am."

Clove scoffed, folding her arms over her chest. "Ha," she laughed. "You'd like to think that. But I can assure you, as I've said countless times, I don't like you. I'm only doing this out of pure curiosity. I want to see the other girls auditioning. I want to see how they preform Juliet."

"Well," Cato let his eyes wander around the room for a moment, before turning back to Clove. "I don't any of them would do it as well as you."

"Are you actually being nice to me for once?" Clove questioned, raising her eyebrows at the smug boy next to her. He shrugged. "I guess so. But let's be honest here, we all know I'll get the part of Romeo, but  if you were Juliet, I think you'd cut out all of the kissing scenes in the whole play. You would make it a boring production about a boy who tries to seduce a girl who resists him because her parents were a pair of idiots."

"I would not!" she countered. "I love the play as it is. You would probably turn it into a horrible and vile tale filled with dirty rap music for musical numbers and have people drinking and eating each other's faces off in the background. And, not to mention, would probably have the main characters take crack and then bang each other for the whole weekend." Clove took a deep breath at the end of her small rant.

"Wow, Clove," Cato mocked being hurt. "That was rude." And, to add extra effect, Cato placed a hand over his heart, faking being wounded. Clove was about to shoot back a witty remark, but Miss Trinket coming out onto the stage silenced her.

"Oh, goodness," Miss Trinket began in awe. "Thank you, all of you, for coming out for today's auditions. Remember, there is no such thing as a small actor, only a small role." Clove saw Cato roll his eyes from the corner of her eye.

"Now, before we begin, I have a few announcements I'd like to make." Students cast each other glances full with anticipation.

"There have been a few..." Miss Trinket trailed off, searching for the right word. "Changes, to this year's school play."

Clove couldn't help but wonder if her father had anything to do with these said changes, but decided to think of other things. Maybe the school had more money than they thought they had, and they could actually buy nicer set pieces. Or maybe the budget was lower than Miss Trinket had thought, and they would have to use old costumes. Whatever the case was, Clove couldn't help but feel a nervous flutter at the bottom of her stomach.

Cato looked at her for a second, seeing the slight worry on her face, but didn'r say anything on the matter.

"I am very sorry to say," Miss Trinket regained the students' attention. "That it has come to the school's attention that Romeo and Juliet has some very troubling things in it that have upset some parents."

And by parents you mean my father, Clove thought grimly.

"If you wish, I will give you a few examples," their teacher went on. "It centers around two teenagers who go against what their parents instruct them to do. One of which murders a boy because that said boy murdered another. Violence is not how to solve any problems. The young Romeo and Juliet get married after rushing into their relationship, they only have just met yet they claim that they are in love. Then, the two sleep together that night. At the end of the play, these two children kill themselves over what they claim is love, which is absurd considering that two people cannot love each other that much and that quickly."

Clove's gaze fell to her lap, where she fiddled with her fingers. She couldn't help but feel guilty for this, even though it was her father's doing.

"So," Miss Trinket took a deep breath. "We will now be doing a story out of The Bible."

Clove felt guilty.

SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING! I know it's been awhile, and I am very sorry for that. I've just been very busy lately, and last week I had tons of testing, leaving my brain to feel like mush.

I finished Dance Academy and cried, I loved it so much. If you have Netflix, I suggest you check it out!
