It's this day.

The day where I would finally become freer and go to places where I was prohibited to go before.

My gosh, I'm turning 18. I'm getting older! And hotter, of course.

"Avery, gising na!" Audrey woke me up and jogged both of my arms. Excited siyang umalis sa ibabaw ko at tumalon-talon na parang bata. I bet she didn't forget about my birthday.

"Oh my gosh. I'm turning 18," sabi ko at bumangon mula sa kama. I must prepare myself for this day dahil you know, it's gonna get busy and cheerful.

"That is just the beginning, girl. Marami na tayong pwedeng puntahan like the bar! Kailangan ka nang binyagan, 'no."

"Let's just hope my brother doesn't find out," I said and we both chuckled. Kuya Keiath is so strict with me, but I understand because he's just looking after me. After all, I'm his little sister.

Bumaba na kami papuntang dining room para mag-almusal. Nadatnan namin si Ethan na kumakain na agad kaya medyo napatigil ako. I know we cleared things out and made a deal to know each other, but I still feel awkward. Ugh!

"Looks like Mr. Lover is excited about his girlfriend's birthday, hmm," pabulong na asar sa akin ni Audrey habang hindi pa kami nakakalapit. And I knew that I blushed at the mentioned word of "girlfriend". My gosh, Avery! Stop being so kilig. Hindi bagay!

"Ano ka ba, hindi niya alam." Nakalapit na kami sa table at sakto, pumunta si Yaya Ruth at nagtanong ng gusto naming almusal. We answered her and Audrey and I sat in front of Ethan. Inangat niya ang ulo niya at napatingin sa amin.

"Morning, Audrey and Avery," bati niya at tumungo na ulit at kumain. Okay, what was that? He greeted us with a sort of cold tone. What the hell happened to be sweet and "knowing about each other"? Tss.

Or baka may mens na naman siya. Typical Ethan.

"Morning!" Audrey greeted him cheerfully and asked, "Alam mo ba kung anong araw ngayon?"

Tumingin sa akin si Audrey kaya pinanlakihan ko siya ng mata. For Pete's sake, don't tell him! Ugh. What if he play tricks and pranks on me knowing it's my birthday?

I know we're getting on the "sweeter" (ew) side, but of course, he's mischievous. He'll still prank me, 'no! I don't trust him.

Am I bad? Ugh, whatever.

"It's Friday. Why?" tanong ni Ethan habang nakatingin sa phone. He just finished eating. How rude! Hindi man lang siya tumitingin sa amin.

Hindi natinag si Audrey sa panlalaki ko ng mata sa kaniya, "It's Avery's birthday! She's turning 18 na. Omg, you should be her last dance in 18 roses! Tutal naman, girlfriend mo siya diba?"

"She's not," Ethan, once again, said it in a cold tone and just left the dining room without even glancing at us and having our jaws dropped. What the hell?

I gritted my teeth. How dare he say that? Okay, clearing things again, it's not official and I'm not his girlfriend, but what the hell? He declared that I'm his girlfriend in front of our parents! His cold tone made it so... ugh! "O... kay. Ano 'yun? May nangyari ba, Avery?" pag-alala ni Audrey.

Medyo ayaw ko na tuloy itong araw na 'to. The guy that I'm hard to admit that I like him doesn't even care that it's my birthday. Childish, pero nakakainis kasi! Ugh.

"Nothing happened. Ugh! Humanda talaga 'yan sa aking lalaking 'yan." This is so frustrating! And before I went nuts, Yaya Ruth came and placed our food on the dining table. At least, there's food that makes me calm. Audrey and I thanked Yaya Ruth and told her she should eat too.
