It was already dark outside and the cafe' got closed at exactly 8 pm when Jisoo and Irene invited me, Nini and chef to go to the new opened night market near the beach  which my little girl got excited about.

Chef Song: "sorry girls got my plans tonight maybe I'll join you next time!"

Jisoo whined because of every excuses Chef Kang had when we were trying to invite him out.

Jisoo: "If I know, the new girl at the reception is your new prospect for this night chef?"

Chef winked at him making us roll our eyes again at Chef Kang.

Irene: "I guess detective Chu got it right again!"

Jisoo smirked boastfully at us making us chuckled from her playfulness.

Nini: 'I think Night market always have the section where they can sell second hand things right mom?"

I hum in response at what my daughter asked. Jisoo grab her hand from me which she always do whenever were going out.

Jisoo: "yes NIni. there's a lot of stuff out there that you might like and maybe I can treat you something that I can afford for being so smart like me!"

Irene laugh as I grin from Jisoo being like this again. She always tell my kid that her smart mind was gained from her.

Nini: "sorry turtle rabbit but your genes are not in my blood but thank you for the offer. I want some thing that worth a month salary of my mom even if it was a second hand item"

My eyes grew wide for the first time my daughter demands something. I kneel down to meet her height as I hold both her shoulders.

Irene: "sounded like so expensive kiddo"

I let out a deep breath as I look into my daughter's eyes to ask her.

Ruby Jane: "what is it baby? you can tell me so mom can save money for that. You know mom will give you everything I can right?"

My daughter nods but and gave me a sad smile then look at my friends who are waiting for us.

Nini: "ahmmm.. it's not that important mom"

Ruby Jane: "you can tell me baby. No secrets right?"

She nodded again and inhale deeper.

Nini: "i- i just want an iPad mom even so that I don't need to borrow Aunt Irene's own cause I know sometimes she needs it too for her personal matters"

I got shocked and didn't expect it from my smart child. But Irene's iPad is still not yet paid for it is an installment cause it's price is worth not just a month salary but my whole 3 months
pay without a rest day for me.

My throat run dry as I didn't know what to say or tell her. If only she's a normal kid like any other kid, I will just tell her yes but still not to buy her that but my kid is so smart that she know whether I am lying or not.

Nini: "it's okay mom I really understand"

She sadly smiled at me and it broke my heart as I felt like crying but not in front of my friends.

Ruby Jane: "you know what? let me buy you first the second thing you want then let me save money for that iPad is that okay?"

I know it's not okay but I can tell that she just go with the flow just to end this heart burning discussion of us and gave me a slow nod before embracing me and I saw how Jisoo
became serious and Irene wiping out a tear.
