Tanjiro stared at you as you sat up in bed, your arms that were supporting your still shaking from how little you had used them in the past month.

His eyes were wide as if he truly saw reincarnation at its finest. "Y-Y/N?" He ran up to your bed, putting his hands on your cheeks, gently squishing them.

"O-Ow, Tanjiro!" You put your hands on his. "I thought you'd be happy to see me awake.. I guess no--"

You were quickly cut off by a sudden hug with Tanjiro's face buried in your shoulder, his tears wetting the fabric of your shirt.

"Y/N, I thought.. I thought I lost you! I really, really, thought I would never see you awake again! Why did you have to do that? Why did you risk your life to save me?"

You pushed back a bit, although his arms still hung around you, and you gave him a warm smile. "Well, I didn't like seeing you suffer. I could tell you didn't want to hurt Nezuko, or anyone, really."

"But I didn't want to hurt you either!" He pressed his forehead against yours, tears still streaming down his face. "We've been together for so long... too long. Too long for me to lose you."

You were silent for a minute before your eyes being flooded with tears and wrapping your arms around him. "I didn't want to lose you either...!"

Hearing the ruckus, Goto poked his head in the room, his eyes going wide. "Y-Y/N's awake!" He called out to the others lingering around the Butterfly Mansion.

Multiple people flooded into the hospital wing as you and Tanjiro moved back from each other.

"Y/N!" Giyuu practically pushed aside the others and ran up to your bed, wrapping you in a hug. You blinked and gently pushed him back a bit. "W-Who are you?" You swatted at his shortened hair, then looked at Tanjiro.

"W-When-- Who--?" You put your hand over your mouth and let it slowly drag down your face. "BUT YOUR HAAAAIIIIR!!"

"YOU JUST WAKE UP AFTER FOUR MONTHS AND TOMIOKA'S HAIR IS BOTHERING YOU?!"

"I HAVE PRIORITIES, SHINAZU-!"

"Sanemi."

You furrowed your brow. "W-Wait, what?" Shinazugawa sighed and crossed his arms. "If you're going to yell at me, at least use Sanemi."

Uzui laughed. "Looks like you've finally grown on him, Y/N!"

Nezuko walked up to you, fidgeting with her fingers. "Thank you for taking care of my brother and I!" She bowed, her forehead nearly hitting the bed. "Even 'til the end, you were always there, so thank you!"

You put your hand on her head as she lifted it, seeing your bright smile. "No... thank you for being with me." Her eyes filled with tears and she embraced you tightly, similar to how Tanjiro had. "Welcome back!"

For the next few months, you lived at the Butterfly Mansion, mainly for rehab. You'd often play around with Kiyo, Sumi, and Naho, help out Aoi with chores, or ask if Kanao's eyes were fine.

Occasionally, you would have tearless sobbing sessions about how Giyuu had cut his hair, but other than that, you were smiling often.

The others would often visit, with you urging Obanai to finally propose, Mitsuri teaching you how to bake different things, giving Shinazugawa your famous ohagi, teaching Gyomei how to read braille, teaching Inosuke how to read in general, telling Zenitsu that his tactics don't actually work on girls, and still complaining about Giyuu's hair.

"Can I not wear this?" You placed the flower crown back on Giyuu's head and gently smacked the back of it. "You should've kept your hair long if you didn't want this."
