🌶️ Max Verstappen - "Are you going to be staring at me all night?"

A / N: For Lima963 😊 This is a continuation of my previous one-shot with Max, so if you haven't read that one yet please do for some more context! The title was too long so I shortened it, but the full title is as follows:

Since the night of the kiss with Max a few months ago, the two of you had been on a couple of casual dates and you were still trying to figure out how to transition from acting as friends to something more. Max was really busy with racing and it had been quite difficult to keep in contact. But the Formula 1 summer break had started and Victoria was throwing a party this weekend to celebrate Max's success in the first half of the season. It was on the Friday of your weekly sleepover and you were all packed to head over to Victoria and Max's house. You hadn't seen him in about a month and Victoria still didn't know you liked each other so you were quite nervous.

When you parked your car on their driveway, you took a deep breath, grabbed your bag from the passenger seat and locked your car to head over to the front door. You rang the bell and waited for a few seconds. There were two scenarios that could happen right now. Victoria could open the door, which meant you would probably see Max tonight. Or he could be here already and open the door himself. While you were deep in thought, the door finally opened. And your eyes went wide when you saw Max in front of you. He looked pretty tan from the few days off he had already and his blue eyes looked down on you. "Hi.." You stammered and Max chuckled at your awkwardness. "Hey beautiful, it's been a while.." He said and he stepped aside to let you in the house.

"Well, a month isn't as long as the three years before that". You giggled and Max's eyes lit up at the sound. He quickly looked around the hallway before he pulled you closer by your lower back and hugged you lovingly. You wrapped your arms around his neck for a moment, enjoying his scent while also listening to every sound around you, aware that Victoria could spot you. "I'm going to see your sister, okay? I'll see you a the party tonight". You said when you gently pulled away and Max nodded slowly before he placed a quick kiss on your lips. Your mouth turned into a big smile afterwards, still amazed by the fact that you finally admitted your feelings for each other. You grabbed your bag and headed up the stairs towards Victoria's room. You knocked and opened the door when she answered with a hum. "There you are! I thought I heard the bell go ages ago.." She said.

You hesitated for a moment but then spoke up. "Yeah, I was chatting with Max for a moment". You quickly turned around and placed your bag on the floor to hide the blushes on your cheeks. "So.. Are you ready to party?" Victoria asked and you giggled while clapping your hands. You were super excited for the first party back after being in a global pandemic for over a year. You had brought a few dresses to choose from, eventually going with the red off-the-shoulder one that fitted your body nicely and some black heels. Victoria got changed as well and you both did your hair and makeup while jamming out to your playlist and drinking some wine to get in the mood. You both jumped up when you heard the doorbell ring and the first guests were arriving already.

Victoria had invited loads of your friends, but there were also some older boys who were friends with Max. The music was pumping through the speakers and the drinks were flowing already. You hadn't seen Max much, he was mostly hanging out with the guys while you were dancing with Victoria and your friends. While the music kept playing, you noticed the boys moving over to sit on a sofa near you and you felt Max's eyes on you the entire time. You weren't that much of a drinker and having a few glasses of wine and some shots earlier, got you a little wobbly, but confident as ever. You danced with your girlfriends and by yourself, having the time of your life while you knew Max was watching you. You saw him talking to one of his mates while keeping his eyes focussed on you and you slowly sucked your lower lip into your mouth. He looked so hot right now.
