'Okay, so milk, eggs, yoghurt..' You read from your shopping list while you made your way through the supermarket. You filled your cart with the products on your list, weaving through the other customers in the store. When you turned into the next aisle, you sighed as it was completely empty except for the man at the end so you could finally browse the shelves at your own pace. After placing some more things in your cart, you made your way over to the end of the aisle, the man still stood in the same place, reading something on his phone before he looked over at the product in his hand. Your eyes glanced over to his face and suddenly all air was knocked out of your lungs. 'How was it possible that you hadn't recognized him until now?'

The dark curls on top of his head, the colourful tattoo peeking from under his shorts, the roman nose that suited him so well. Your heart started beating faster once you remembered it was just you two in the aisle and you were getting closer with each step. You tried to steer your cart a little more to the other side so you could pass behind him without him noticing but it was too late as his eyes glanced up and he moved his head in your direction. You instantly saw the shocked expression on his face when he saw you and you were a little embarrassed that he had recognized you straight away while it took you a while. You studied his face for a second, still walking towards him, only a little slower now and he looked even more handsome than you remembered.

"H-Hey, oh my god!" Daniel said and you chuckled at the way he was stammering, his eyes wide and his eyebrows still lifted in surprise. His signature smile showed up on his face and you instantly felt it still had the same effect on you as it used to, making your knees go weak while you felt your heart flutter. "Hi! Well, that's someone I had never expected to run into at a grocery store in London". You said, immediately feeling comfortable around him again. You and Daniel had dated for a few months last year but the distance and Daniel's demanding schedule while racing for Renault made you decide to split up. There had never been any arguments or bad blood and the memories of those few months together had been nothing but good. 

"Well, I live here now". He said, the smile still plastered across his face and you felt your heartbeat quicken. 'Wait, he lived here now? As in, in London?' Daniel could tell that you were still processing that information so he decided to elaborate. "I changed teams at the beginning of the year. I drive for McLaren now and they are based in the UK, so I have an apartment here for when I'm needed at the factory". You were just speechless. All this time you had hoped he could just move to London to be closer to you and now he was just here in your local supermarket announcing he did? This had to be a dream. "Wow, I don't really know what to say. Congratulations, I know McLaren is such a cool team!" You said as you had enjoyed watching Formula 1 while you were together.

Daniel nodded his head and smiled sweetly at you while you caught his eyes glancing over your body. His dark hues had always been your weakness and when they found yours again, you couldn't look away. It felt like you were just staring at each other for hours in the middle of the supermarket, shamelessly eyeing up one another and the tension in your stomach grew when Daniel pulled his bottom lip into his mouth, a cheeky smile showing up on his face. "Do you maybe want to catch up sometimes?" He asked and you instantly felt like saying yes, trying to ignore the doubts in your head for once. The fact that he was here right now had to be some sort of sign so you nodded happily. "Do you have any plans this evening? You can come to see my apartment if you'd like?"
