So... I know it's obvious that I just found a beautiful picture of an eye, threw it into paint, and then colored over it... I know, it looks terrible, but I wanted to give you some reference to what's happening at the end of the chapter. It looks more cool and natural, not like this, but yeah... just imagine this, but better!
The sound of a metallic clash echoed through the courtyard as your sword was knocked from your hands, your opponent grumbling irritably as he turned and walked away. Your hearing wasn't amazing, but you knew this asshole well enough to know exactly what he was saying.
"Useless," and "Waste of my precious, self-absorbed time," was probably how it sounded... Unfortunately, he wasn't wrong.
As good as you were at running and all the evasive exercises Arthur had been putting you through, swordplay was not a strong point for you. Maybe if you'd been doing this since you were a kid, but you grew up a city girl! Seriously, you could maybe name one hero who used a whole ass sword these days. Stain did too, but it's not like he was a knight-style vigilante, more of an assassin with a naruto complex, and that barely counted.
Arthur had some grand idea of turning you into a super knight who could move through the battlefield, apperating and taking any fight by storm as you moved. You'd even heard him talking to Merlin about it, coming up with everything from 'super cool' code names to planning out your outfit.
If you could only get the hang of your quirk, that'd be one thing, but ever since you'd had that weird vision and passed out, Merlin had banned you from using it where you could for the time being. Apparently, nearly dying and having to be thrown into a coma to save your life was enough to put you on medical rest.
Silly, yes... Also necessary.
Your muscles ached as you bent over to pick up the sword, your muscles groaning as you moved. If this was a mandatory rest, someone needed to tell that to Arthur.
"(Y/N)!" An eager voice was yelling as they approached and you felt your heart drop in your chest.
If you ignored him, he'd catch up and start pestering you again, if you ran... Well, you'd probably pass out, but that was something you were willing to deal with.
"Wait up!"
Nope, you weren't doing this again, you knew what he wanted, and you wanted nothing to do with him. You sped up, staring ahead resolutely, if you could get to the changing room, he'd probably leave you alone.
"(Y/N)!"
Take a fucking hint!
Your speed walk turned into a sprint and your stupid sword was tossed aside as you made every attempt to get away from him. Legs be damned, if you had to deal with him asking you that stupid question one more time, you'd figure out how to use your quirk to send him right into a dragon's den. Merlin mentioned there was one around here before, he'd get to meet Smaug and then he'd never be able to talk to you again.
He laughed.
That mother fucker laughed as you tried to get away.
Thanks to the crazy workout you'd just been through, you couldn't go fast enough to outpace him and with every step, you could hear him catching up. The dressing room was close, but it wasn't close enough.
A hand wrapped around your wrist and you threw yourself into a roll shaking him off for half a second, but it still wasn't enough. By the time you were on your feet again, he was in front of you, his stupid face smiling as though this was a fun little game.
How could one person be this punch-able?
Anyone who saw this man's smile would think he was the worst womanizer, which he kinda was, but that not what he was doing here, not at all.
