Waking up was interesting... To put it nicely.
If everything had been normal when you woke up, you probably would have written the whole pig incident off as a dream caused by the amount of stress you were under, but you couldn't. It was pretty hard to deny the existence of a talking pig when you woke up with its nose in your face.
Normally, you probably would have either screamed or shot up and started asking every question that ran through your head as your arm bobbed ever so slightly (so what if you picked up a few ticks from your brothers?). But right now was a bit different. Whenever it was that you had last been awake, you used your quirk no less than six times and you were exhausted.
Your body was sore, as though you were exercising for hours, and even opening your eyes felt like a chore, so overreacting to the pig was a bit more than you could handle.
"Oh, You're awake!" The pig chimed happily, causing you to blink slowly at it.
Maybe if you blinked, it would turn out to be an illusion and go away.
"You were sleeping for so long, we almost thought you died!"
Okay... So that didn't work. Next plan. With a groan, you pushed yourself into a sitting position, "W-Who are you?" Your voice trembled as you moved, your body protesting every movement. "Or, well, maybe what are you?"
The Iida side of your brain was starting to kick in as you tried to analyze the situation. Was this an animal that somehow got a quirk like the principal of UA High School allegedly was or was it a mutation quirk that completely changed a person into a pig? There were plenty of possibilities in the world you lived in and it would be wrong to assume.
You glanced around quickly while the pig was giving you a strange look and glanced at the room.
It was a bit rudimentary, with a wick lantern at the bedside rather than an electric light, but that could be because this was an old building or because of the tastes of the owner. But other than that it was... Normal?
Perhaps it wasn't as odd as you thought, but now that you were thinking about it, you couldn't see any plugins or a central light. And the bed you were lying on certainly wasn't a modern spring bed.
You didn't want to be overanalyzing the room this early in the day, but here you were, going to town.
"What do you mean by that?" The pig asked you, head tilting in a way that didn't seem very possible, seeing as how didn't even have a neck, "I'm a hog, isn't that obvious?"
Perhaps it should have been, but you'd gotten in trouble before when you assumed something obvious, so it was better safe than sorry, "I guess," You said with an uncomfortable smile as you rubbed the back of your neck, "So, do you have an intelligence quirk? I've never met an animal with one before, but I have heard of them."
For some reason, the pig in front of you looked even more confused, "Intelligence quirk?" He asked, but you were caught by the sight out the window before you could answer.
You vaguely remembered seeing something out of place earlier, but as you looked out the window, you could feel your breath hitching.
No.
That wasn't okay.
With a jolt that startled the pig, you scrambled out of the bed and almost fell on your face as you were going to the window.
A mountain. And not one of those little ones that Japan had that were gorgeous but really not all that extreme... No, this was a big mountain that you saw on the internet when you saw pictures of foreign countries.
