To say you were nervous as you followed Patches outside was an understatement. You had known him all of a few hours and even you knew that this wasn't going to be some friendly chat.

The moment you were far enough in the forest to be out of earshot, a growl escaped Patches as he swung around to face you, his blue eyes blazing as bright as his fire, "I think it's time you start talking." His voice was deathly serious as you stared at each other. He obviously wasn't in the mood to humor you, but the hard thing was that you didn't know what he was asking for.

So much had happened, he could be asking about why you froze at the sight of Giri back at the USJ, where you were, if this had happened before, etc.

Really, you were more than a little lost at the moment, so as your face twisted to match the confusion, you couldn't stop the stupid, "Hah?" From escaping you. Tenya would be so disappointed in you right now.

Patches- Well, perhaps after everything it would be more polite to call him by the name he gave you- was tense, his whole body seeming to be carved out of stone as he glared, "You heard me. Because of you, I was dragged to a completely different land along with some random girl. Did you bring us here on purpose?"

"What? No!" Your hands raised defensively as your eyes widened, "I swear that's never happened to me before!" He continued to stare at you, obviously expecting more of an answer than you gave, so, of course, you started to panic ramble.

"Listen, before now, I wasn't able to teleport more than a few kilometers, if I had to guess, I'd say the stress of using my quirk so much in one day, combined with the fact that I saw Giri- who I thought was a figment of my imagination until that moment, might I add- and the stress of everything warped my quirk."

Your arm began to bob gently as you talked, a clear sign of just how agitated you were.

"I'm sorry that I dragged you into this, I really am, but I don't think I can get us back."

His eyes widened and he took a threatening step towards you, which made you step away. It's not like you thought he'd be malicious about hurting you... But your leg was still aching from the last time you'd upset him, and honestly, you didn't know him well enough to believe that he wouldn't hurt you.

Unfortunately for you, the forest was rather dense, so you ended up tripping over a bush before you could go any further.

"You want to run that by me again?"  Okay, so he was mad. Roger that. Thank the lord that there were exits all around you if you could get through it without tripping again, but now came the fun part.

He was obviously giving you a chance to rephrase what you said, but there would be no rephrasing anything, especially not this, "I don't think I can get us home." You repeated solemnly, "I don't even know how I did that, to begin with, and even if I did, well... What if there's more than just two worlds out there? We could be going between them for the rest of our lives and never get back home?"

"And what if I jumped us through time, not to a different world or whatever this is?" You had been letting this topic stew of the backburner all day, there were too many possibilities, "It could be impossible for me to get us back... I mean, I hate to say that it would be like a needle in a haystack, but that seems most accurate right now."

Sparks of blue flames began to curl around his hands and you flinched. He had been mad at you when you met, but that felt like nothing when compared to the ice-cold rage you could feel radiating off him at the moment.

In a heartbeat, you realized that unlike so many people you had met over the years, Dabi's anger wasn't hot. He didn't blow up at the slightest provocation.
