Standing at Delia's bedroom was Gracen. And from the way Gracen was leaning around Andrew the "We need to talk." was directed towards Delia and the twins.
"I just watched your brother and their abuser, who happens to be your mother not give a flying fu--fudgesicle about her, while you didn't give them a knuckle-sandwich and you think I'm going to let you near them alone?" said Andrew in disbelief. Delia smiled It was times like these that she started to believe Andrew and Andre were actually related.
"I know I should have done something and I apologize for that, but you can't really have expected me to punch my brother when something he does bugs me." Gracen responded looking apologetically at the trio on the bed.
"Like heck I can't. If Andre ever stopped caring about Lia or the twins and hurt them emotionally, I would have decked him without a second thought and add a fist-roll as a side." Andrew declared his eyes flashing with promise.
"Ok ok. I get it, you can stay. I don't blame you for being protective, in fact I somewhat appreciate and respect you for it." Gracen hurriedly agreed.
Gracen stood a little ways from the foot of the bed and Andrew nodded before returning to his place, a chair near the bedside. Taking a deep breath, with his eyes closed Gracen began to talk.
"I want you to know that I love all three of you. I never wanted you guys to be hurt or feel unsafe an hour of your life, but it's becoming apparent that allowing you to live here is doing that." His words cause the trio to glance at each other apprehensively. Was he saying that they were being kicked out "for their own good."?
"Daniel punched Hunter and even wanted to continue kicking him. His actions didn't halt until I intervened. That's why earlier I asked Andrew to examine him, Hunter is fine and resting his room. But this situation made me realize that I couldn't continue waiting for Daniel to repent and mend his ways. I have decided to fight him for your guys custody and I have talked to Hunter about it since he is a legal adult and he agreed to leave with us as well." Clasping his hands nervously in front of him before finishing with a question. "I just want to know, what do you think?"
Delia leaned further back in the pillows supporting her as the twins began to frantically sign. Delia sometimes responded probably answering some of the question they had, but mostly seemed to be letting them do most of the talking and make their own decisions.
"How sure are you that you can get custody?" Artie asked his tone not seeming to fit his youthful appearance.
"I have had a short conversation with my lawyer and he thinks we have a pretty good shot." Gracen answered seriously. Artie nodded his acknowledgement his hand stroking his invisible beard.
"We agree!!" Both Artie and Drew yelled at the top their lungs. Delia flinched and covered her ears, but didn't seem to be that bothered.
'I wouldn't mind living with you guys.' Delia signed as Artie translated in a more subdued tone than his earlier yelling. Everyone took her words as a shy agreement, but Delia simply was voicing her wishes that she knew couldn't come true.
