Chapter Twelve: Cake and Presents

After two hours of dancing, video games, and eating Patton and Janus's cooking it was time for Thomas to open presents from everyone. " Alright present time kiddos." Patton said very excited about this. Everyone cheered happy to give Thomas what they got him for the big day. And this time the sides made their gifts real for Thomas to use. Thomas sat on the couch with Joan and Talyn. While the sides went to their spots of sitting and standing. Nico took the edge of the couch so they can see what they are all doing. " So who's should I open first?" Thomas asked wondering who's present should be opened first. " Youngest to oldest for the sides." Janus said liking that idea. Thomas agreed with the idea and looked to Virgil knowing he was the youngest of his sides. Virgil sighed and grabbed his gift bag from beside him and went over to Thomas. He gave the bag to Thomas hoping his host liked the gift he got for him. Thomas to the gift bag from his anxious side smiling at him. Virgil went back to the stairs and sat down watching Thomas open the bag. Thomas smiled as opened it. He pulled out the item and saw it was a pair of headphones he's been wanting. He looked at Virgil happy with the gift. " Thanks Virgil I love them." Thomas said grateful for the gift Virgil gave him. Virgil felt awkward by Thomas's words. He wasn't used to being praised and thanked for things he thought were required by him. Virgil rubbed his neck trying not to panic in front of everyone. " Yeah well don't mention it. Really don't mention it." Virgil said not wanting Thomas to say anything about this again. Thomas understood that. He knew Virgil didn't like it but it's curies to thank people for gifts. He moved onto Logan after that.

Logan got up from the side of the couch he was sitting on and grabbed his gift bag. He went over to him. He gave the bag to Thomas. " I think you'll find that it is to your liking and will be useful in the coming months or year." Logan said winking at Thomas after he said that. Thomas blushed knowing what Logan was hinting at. " A-Alright." Thomas said flustered by Logan's actions as he took the bag. Logan went back to his seat and waited for Thomas to open the present. Thomas looked inside the bag and gasped seeing what it was. He pulled them out to show everyone quickly. He held up three Hufflepuff ties which Thomas realized were from hot topic. Thomas looked at Logan as he laid the ties back in the bag. " Thanks Lo I like them a lot." Thomas said happy about the gift Logan got him. Logan just nodded and sipped at his coffee. Janus went next knowing Thomas's deepest desire. As his room held them all like stars in the sky at night. It made his room nice to be in. He went over to Thomas handing him the wrapped gift. It was a medium sized box so Thomas though it was something like a book or something. He started tear up the wrapping paper. He got to the box and realized it was a necklace box. He looked at Janus wondering what the necklace box was about. " Open it and see what it is Thomas." Janus said wanting Thomas to see it. He didn't like hiding things from Thomas anymore. Especially since he was trying to be a good example for Patton. As Patton likes to hide his emotions. Which isn't very good because he's Thomas's heart. So Patton's emotions effect Thomas's. And they all didn't need that again.

Thomas just shrugged and opened the box. He gasped when he saw what the necklace looked like. It was a sliver chained necklace with little charms of the sides symbols on it. Patton's heart, Logan's glasses, Janus's snake, Remus's sword, Roman's shield, and Virgil's storm cloud. Thomas's felt touched by this. " Janus's it's beautiful thank you." Thomas's said very appreciative of the gift. Janus just smiled and went back to Patton who gave his gift to Thomas next. Thomas took the bag from him and started opening it. Once he opened it he saw what Patton had made him. Patton had made him plushies of their animals that he thinks the sides would be and are. For Patton it was a frog. Logan was an owl. Roman was a lion. Remus was an octopus. Janus was a snake. And Virgil was a black cat even though his trait is a spider. Thomas was confused by Virgil's plush but let it slide and decided to ask about it later once his friends left. " Their great Pat thanks." Thomas said happy about the stuffed animals. He knew just wear the put them as well. With the other items that the fans have made. He put them on the back of the couch as Remus and Roman gave Thomas his last gift from them all. They both knew that they caused a lot of trouble for the others and Thomas. They knew that throughout middle school they gave him trouble as King along with the sides. That their influences have caused a lot of good and bad. It was time for them to make up for this all. " This is for you. Happy birthday and were sorry for all the trouble." Remus and Roman said knowing this might make up for somethings but not everything. Thomas took the bag and gave them the sincere look. He knew they didn't mean to cause trouble for him. They didn't mean to cause trouble for the others as well. Thomas knew that it was kind of his fault as he was growing up. The twins went back to their spot.

Thomas opened the gift and gasped. Inside the bag was the Christmas sweater Roman and Patton didn't make for him. It didn't matter why they didn't make it for him before he was just happy to have it now. He pulled it out of the bag showing everyone. It was a light pink with white with yellow stars all over it. He hugged it looking at Roman. " I love it." Thomas said happy with the sweater. Roman just smiled and nodded. He couldn't say much right now as it was a lot for him. Thomas pulled out Remus's gift next and was confused by it. Thomas look at it. It was a crown. It was sliver with red and green gems around the rim. But the tops had yellow gems in them. Thomas looked at Remus wondering what it was. " It's King's crown. I was able to repair it." Remus said knowing Thomas wouldn't know about it. But he thought it would be a good gift for him. Thomas was shocked by this. He thought that the crown had been unrepairable after they separated. But this just proved that one of them could repair it. The one who did it being Remus. " Thank you both of you." Thomas said happy for their gifts. Roman and Remus ran over to him and hugged him. Thomas hugged back happy about their gifts.

After a few minutes the twins pulled away and went back to their spots. Joan and Talyn already gave Thomas their gifts for the day so the last one to give Thomas their gift would be Nico. He looked at his crush knowing it would be okay if Nico didn't get him anything. Thomas just enjoyed Nico being there. Nico just smirked having an idea for later. " It's a surprise for later on." Nico said wanting Thomas to wait to know what his gift will be. Thomas just nodded knowing he can wait. Patton clapped his hands and ran off to the kitchen. Thomas was surprised by this but waited to see what Patton was doing. Patton soon came back with Thomas's cake and a number candle with Thomas's age on it. Everyone started singing to Thomas letting him enjoy the moment. Everyone soon finished letting Thomas blow out the candle. Everyone clapped as he did. Logan cut the cake and handed a piece to everyone. They all ate and enjoyed the rest of the night.

Time skip

Soon enough it was time for Nico to head home. He got up from the couch saying goodbye to everyone. Thomas saw him out as he left. Nico and him started talking for a bit as they did. As Nico was about to walk out though he turned to Thomas and smiled. " Oh and Thomas here's your gift." Nico said knowing he hasn't given it to him yet. Thomas was confused for a bit. Until Nico's lips met with Thomas's. Thomas was very surprised at first but kissed back relaxing after all that. Nico pulled away after a few minutes. " See ya Thomas." Nico said leaving for the night. Thomas waved still in shock. Once Nico was gone the sides were screaming and fangirl like teenage girls after. It snapped Thomas out of the shock and looked at them all. They all straightened up as Thomas looked at them. Thomas was still upset by them going behind his back. " We're going to talk about this tomorrow. No excuses." Thomas said knowing they would try to get out of this. The sides all agreed knowing Thomas wouldn't drop the topic to let them get away with it. Thomas found this good and went back to hang out with Joan and Talyn. The sides left for the night leaving Thomas to have time with them. But they all knew tomorrow would have a long talk about the future.
