Emiri's POV
These days, my headaches have turned into even more severe migraines. I've already gone to see my doctor multiple times within the past couple of weeks. He prescribed me some medication of course, yet I feel dizzy immediately after taking them. Then, I faint and black out. The next day, I'll try to remember everything that had occurred the day before, only to not remember much. Thankfully, I still remember all my friends and my name at least.

Sitting down slowly upon my bed, I finally got home after a day out shopping with my best friend Marina.

It's lonely...

Coming home to an empty house.

Flashback, five years ago.

"Tanaka Emiri-san," the school's loudspeakers announced, quickly alerting me and my best friend Yamato Marina. "Please report to the teacher's office. We have something important to tell you!"

"Wonder what it could be..." I stated, my voice trailing off as I said my goodbye to Marina and headed towards the direction of the teacher's office.

Quietly, I opened the sliding door to the room and took a seat at a nearby teacher's desk. "Hello?" I called out to whoever it was that I was supposed to see. As I turned my head to my right, I could see my homeroom teacher Mr. Yamashita giving another teacher a frown. He turned, facing me.

"I'm sorry, Tanaka-san..." Mr. Yamashita's voice trailed off as he gently patted me upon the shoulder. "I'm very sorry for your loss..."

"Loss?" I inquired, unable to come to terms with what he could have meant. "Wh-What do you mean, Sensei?"

"Your parents got involved in a car accident earlier this afternoon. There were two fatalities, both of them died on the scene."

"No, this..." I was nearing tears. "Sensei, tell me it isn't true!"

"I'm sorry, Tanaka-san..."

Flashback end, present day

No matter how many times I try to forget that day, the memories always seem to come back to me. My folks were on their way to pick me up from school that day, only for them to get into a car accident minutes before arriving at my high school. Sometimes, I can't help but blame myself for being the cause of their deaths.

Pr-ring! Pr-ring!

"Huh?" I began, glimpsing back down at my cardigan's pocket. "Who could this be?" Quickly checking the caller ID, I realized it was one of my newer friends Kinjo Sukai. "Sukai-kun? You called?"

"Y-Yes..." Sukai shyly said on the other end of the line. "Geez, this is awkward but..."

"What is it? Is something wrong?" I asked of him, sincerely worried about what might have occurred. All I heard in response was silence. "Sukai-kun? Umm... Are you still there?"

"Yeah, yeah... I'm still here. Sorry to disturb you, but Takumi-kun and one of your other friends got into a fight earlier today... Takumi-kun broke his arm. We're at the hospital right now. He wanted to talk to you. Here, I'll put him on speaker!"

"Emi-chi?" I heard Takumi's voice faintly in the background. "Don't worry about me! I'm fine! It's just a broken arm... It'll heal eventually!"

"How can I not be worried? Taku-min, you got into a fight! Are you sure that you're alright?"

"Emi-chi, I'm fine... Really!"

"Taku-min, don't lie to me... Just wait a few and I'll be there. Sukai-kun, which hospital are you guys at?"

"The nearby one... Umm... It's a foreign name but something Heart?" Sukai-kun replied back.

"Blue Heart Hospital?" I questioned of my friend.

"Yeah! That's the one!"

"Okay, I'll be there in around fifteen minutes or so!"

With that, my call with Sukai-kun and Taku-min came to a close. I was supposed to meet up with Takumi at the school playground today, but I guess we now have a change of plans.

I wonder what could be so urgent for him to call me in the middle of the night.
