Re: Do You Still Remember?
Sender: emi_chi99@mail.comJun,
I'm sorry but I don't think that we can meet up just yet. One of my newer friends just told me that one of my other friends got into a fight earlier today.
My friend broke his arm and I'll be at Blue Heart Hospital to check-up on him.
Remember?
I'm sorry, Jun but I really don't remember anything...
I'm really sorry!
- Emiri 😔
Junki's POV
"Emi-chan..." I whispered to myself as I skim read through the latest reply she had sent me over e-mail. Emiri wasn't able to join Takumi, Keigo, Marina, and me on our little karaoke outing last Sunday. I've been genuinely concerned for her well-being as of late. I heard from Keigo-kun that she's been experiencing some rather terrible migraines lately due to the head trauma incident that occurred eleven years ago, where Emiri slipped on a rock and ended up falling backwards down a steep hill.Ever since that day, I blamed myself for the accident.
I blamed myself for making her lose her memories.
I still blame myself for being the cause of her unhappiness.
Yet, there's still something even greater than that that I blame myself for causing.
Flashback, five years ago. The day Emiri's parents get into the tragic accident that would change her life forever.
"Ah, it sure is pouring out!" Emiri's mother stated as she glimpsed out into the windshield of the Tanaka family's car. "You sure we shouldn't have just walked, Honey?" She asked of her husband.
"I'm sure that we'll be able to pick Emiri up in time, Sweetie! There's no problem with a little rain..." Mr. Tanaka replied, reassuring his wife that everything will be okay.
"Alright, but we have to make sure that when Junki arrives that Emiri will be glad to see him! Remember, we promised his parents that we would pick him up from the train station soon?" Mrs. Tanaka checked the time on her watch, seeing the hour hand strike at exactly 4 PM. "He can't ride his bike all the way from the station to our place in this kind of weather, can he?"
"Don't worry about it! I'm sure we'll be able to pick up Emiri... And Junki in time!"
"Well, I'll leave it to you then!"
As the rain began to pour buckets upon the earth, a bike suddenly zoomed its way into the couple's car, and as Mr. Tanaka tried to brake, the damage had already been done.
Flashback end, present day.
I promised myself that I wouldn't get myself involved with Emi-chan any longer ever since that day her parents died in that accident. That day, I was planning on visiting her and her family. My folks back home already had everything planned out. I would be spending the weekend at the Tanaka's and I would finally be reunited with Emiri. But of course, fate was never on my side to begin with.
When her folks didn't show up at the train station, I panicked. I grabbed a hold of my phone and looked up their address and pedaled my way on over to their house. However, that's when my bike's brakes suddenly lost control and I zoomed down that hill and collided with the Tanaka family's car. It was a head-on collision.
I ended up with a broken arm and a few scratches and bruises. But when I learned what had happened after regaining consciousness, I continued to blame myself from that moment on.
I was the cause.
I caused the accident that took Emi-chan's parents.
Takumi's POV
While reluctantly waiting for Emiri to visit him at the hospital, Takumi decides to chat with Sukai about everything that's been going on."So, what exactly happened that caused you to break your arm? You definitely don't look like the type of guy who would get into fights..." Sukai's voice trailed off as he gave me a smirk.
"Okay, fine! I saw a cat on the road while biking my way over to Ueno Park to meet up with Emi-chi... And well, I didn't know the cat would end up crossing paths with me and my bike and next thing I knew, I swerved into a tree," I responded, a bit embarrassed to tell him the truth behind how I broke my arm.
Sukai laughed. "Bro, that's hilarious! I can only imagine Emi-chan laughing a bit when I tell her this!"
"What was that?" I didn't hear the last bit that Sukai stated, as he was basically whispering to himself.
"Oh! Nothing!" Still, Sukai laughed.
"Is it really that funny?" I rolled my eyes at him, irritated.
Suddenly, the sliding door to my hospital room opened and I saw Emi-chi walk her way in with...
Keigo?
