"They just keep at, persistent fuckers." Renae states annoyed.

"Hey, do you vamps got brains? Can you talk?" Gutsy ask in the middle of slicing a vamp's head off.

"'Course we do, but it won't matter to you because you'll be dead in a few seconds."

"You say but y'all have been trying to kill us for a day or two now."

Gutsy smirks as he sees a few vamps stop in their tracks at his bothersome but true statement.

"Do all of you really just want to be Lucien's bitches for the rest of your lives?" Renae adds.

"Also," Gutsy cuts his blood and touches one of the dead vamps' bodies and it turns to dust. "I can do so much more than just kill you."

The vamps swallow air in their throats.

"You should know I plan to kill Lucien and I will. If you want to continue being his bitch, that's fine. But if you want a way out, side with me."

The vamps contemplate for a few seconds.

A few of the other vamps run off saying "I'll take my chances on the winning side. But we'll leave you alone for now."

Only two stay behind, a vampire man and boy that resemble each other with matching curly black hair and eyes.

"Glad that's over." Gutsy sighs.

"Father and son?" Renae asks kindly to the two new vamps.

"Yea. Me and my son were just going out for ice cream around the city when were scooped out of nowhere. We were humans a few days ago..." A gloomy aura overtakes the man and boy. "Our family must be worried sick."

"Okay, looks like we just lost you as allies. Cause we have to get you back to your family." Gutsy states serious.

It's what Sebastian would do.

A smile creeps up on Gutsy's face and small tears roll down the man's and boys face. "Thank you," they praise with gratitude.

"Alright, where is your home?" Renae asks

"This doesn't look like our Country, so we have some traveling to do, I apologize."

"Not necessary. I already have an idea." Gutsy states calmly.

The man lifts his son up onto his back and follows Gutsy along with Renae to the village that treated his wounds. He trades in some coins for three horses, and they ride off as the sky begins to turn dark. Gutsy is a natural on horseback but Renae and Rashad as they learnt his name was along the way are having trouble with their horses.

"Relax, relax," Gutsy instructs the two.

Rashad's small son sits in front of him, still not have said a word their entire journey.

"Hey Rashad, what's your ability?" Renae asks irked she still doesn't have one.

"I guess I would describe it as a smokescreen. It's how me and my son were hiding. I practically made us invisible, unable to be sensed, smelled or seen. Even though we were in the middle of those scary vamps."

Almost like Jun's second ability, Gutsy thinks regretfully about the man who was like family to him.

"That's so fucking useful, lucky. I don't have one at all." Renae bites her lip in frustration.

"From what I've witness in that horrid castle, the stronger or advanced ability accumulates much later for other vamps. So don't lose hope."

"Hm, something to look forward to." Renae grins excited.
