Stiles was used to everything going bad and then getting worse. He was used to everyone being evil and out to get him. What he didn't expect was Haley Darby. A seemingly normal girl who, admittedly, had caught his attention before. She stumbled into...

Hayley and Lydia were sat in Allison's car as she drove. Hayley was staring out the window, head rested on the chair. She was quiet, a lot quieter that the girls were used to. She had been since last night, the memories replaying over and over in her head.
"Am I getting too close?" Allison asked. They were following the school bus in front that was on its way to a lacrosse meet. Something had happened to Scott last night and Allison had decided to not let him out of her sight which, consequently, meant Hayley and Lydia wouldn't either. "I'm getting way too close, aren't I?"
"That depends" Lydia replied, "Are you just following the bus, or are you planning on mounting it at some point?" Hayley let out a half-hearted laugh before looking out the window again.
She checked on her phone for updates from her mom but it was still nothing.
Nothing at all. Still.
"Yeah, I should back off." Allison said as she stared at the bus, it was right in front of them. The yellow vehicle standing out against the drab sands surrounding the road.
"Well, that also depends. Do you mean the bus or the ex-boyfriend you're currently stalking?" Lydia put forth, her tone teasing.
"Well, after what happened, I'm not letting him out of my sight." Allison stated, "And by the way, this all started when he came knocking at my door."
"For what?" Hayley asked. Instead of drowning in her own worries she decided to try not thinking about them as much. Her mind was stuck on the same memory rather than in the conversation happening with her friends. Joining in, she thought, would help lock away her problems; let them be opened at another time. When she is alone, and ready to face them and the emotions they will bring.
"An, um, arrow he found at the school." Allison replied quietly, glancing at Hayley, "He thought it was from me but I told him it could be from the archery team."
Hayley's eyes widened, "Did he find, you know, anything else?" She tried to make her question not obvious. Allison shook her head and Hayley let out a breath in relief. Isaac hadn't told anyone; she was in the clear. They returned back to comfortable silence.
Lydia grabbed a book out of her bag, about to start reading. Hayley scoffed, the girl was reading 'Thermodynamic, asymmetry in time, for fun, voluntarily. She was obviously thinking and placed her book down. "So is that whole 'not let them out of your sight thing' thing literal or more like a general rule?" Lydia questioned.
"Why?" Allison asked, she had her head resting against her hand, obviously tired from the night before.
"You're running on fumes." Lydia stated, not looking up from her book.
