Stiles was used to everything going bad and then getting worse. He was used to everyone being evil and out to get him. What he didn't expect was Haley Darby. A seemingly normal girl who, admittedly, had caught his attention before. She stumbled into...

"Hayley!" Scott shouted, rushing forwards. He tried going forwards to help her, forgetting the mountain ash was there covering her and Jennifer's dead body. He got pushed back, a blue light forcing him away from his friend.
Hayley didn't answer, her eyes closed and her body unmoving. She didn't flinch or anything. The girl was out cold and god how Scott wished it was just that, that she wasn't dead. "Hayley!" He repeated, praying that she would wake up, that everything would be fine again.
But she didn't reply. The white aura round her still strong, so strong Scott struggled to look her way. He pushed forwards again, feeling the pull on his hands as he pushed them forwards, it seemed futile but he would not give up. He would not leave Hayley.
"It's no use, Scott." Derek said sadly, putting a hand on Scott's shoulder.
"I'm not giving up." Scott panted, breathing heavy to prepare himself.
Unsurely he lifted his hand, pushing it against the mountain ash barrier. It was hard to keep it there as the mountain ash tried to push him away but still he carried on. He grunted, lifted his other hand and pushed with as much force as he could.
He breathed heavy, using all his energy as he kept pushing his hands forwards despite them screaming to be pulled away. His eyes shone yellow, his wolf strength coming out and he pushed and pushed. He wasn't going to lose hope. He couldn't.
Hayley was part of his pack.
And Scott always cared for his pack.
He grunted, using all his strength. His hand pushed closer to the barrier, to the other side. The side where Hayley lay unconscious.
Hayley's eyes began fluttering open, her vision blurred and her body aching in unfathomable pain. She saw a sight she never though she would have.
Scott's eyes. The yellow she had grown used to, yellow symbolising how he was a beta, it wasn't there. Instead his eyes began turning a bright red, it slowly colliding with the yellow until his whole pupil was covered with the colour. A shining red, that suited him well.
The red eyes of a True Alpha.
His hand slowly pushed through the barrier. He no longer felt it trying to push him back. With a part of his body past the mountain ash it made it easier for the rest to follow. Next was his foot, then his hand then his other hand. He carefully stepped over the mountain ash, breaking the seal Jennifer had created. It blew up with a blue light as part of the circle dispersed and he could step in and out of the area easily.
He quickly leant over Hayley's body as she lay uncomfortably on the floor, in too much pain to move any limbs. His hand went to her shoulder, a sigh of relief falling from his lips when he saw her brown eyes staring back at him. "Your eyes." She gasped, "Scott, they were red."
