Laura

My wolf had been on a high since the day I entered Crescent Moon territory. I had to go to every pack, as told to me by the council, to familiarize them with the newly found techniques in medicines.

The packs had a good understanding about it though. This initiative was mainly carried out so that I could observe and search for better candidates that could help me on the outside of the filthy little research lab on shifters.

The vampires, Cleo and Sarah helped me in this. They were mates and were friends with the southern packs as well as my pack, to help them if humans happened to encounter any werewolves. They were the two best vampires I had ever met in my life.

Ravi was another werewolf who was a beta born. We met in college and he had similar opinions as mine. We did college together and he helped us on the outside as the vamps and I began to work as trainees in those human labs.

It was difficult to inform human officials about the lab. That would only gather more attention to the shifters. It was in our best interest to eliminate and find out if there were other labs around the world.

As trainees, we couldn't find much information. They had a really tight security and what we believed was controlled by hunters. The ones trying to eliminate our existence.

What did we ever do to them?

Somehow the hunters had gotten stronger. The vampires weren't able to brainwash them easily. They probably had gotten strong with something that they made from experimenting on shifters.

We knew we had to move fast and we had just begun. Hunters were brutal and kidnapped young pups. That's what struck me the most. So we started to move faster as there weren't many people on this task.

I had already visited the Silver Summit which held the council. It had to be the first place I had to expound. Then I went to the western packs which included my pack, Crystal Pearl and Mystic Shadow pack. I had found a potential mate in the Mystic Shadow pack which got my wolf and me all bothered and in a frenzy.

Both of us were waiting for our fate mate. We did not want to get blown away with the presence of a potential. He was a beta there, a good man.

I talked to mom and dada about how I was affected by him though I did not want to be. They sat with me and explained to me what it was to them when they found each other.

They told me, "A potential mate will always give you second thoughts. It will remind you all day how somewhere in the world there was someone just as perfect as you are, fated for you. When you meet your fated mate, you won't even have your own thoughts bother you. You won't even be able to think twice before running into his arms."

When I came to Crescent Moon, a scent so ethereal and warm reached me. It wasn't strong though. It felt as if it had faded a long time ago. Like it was there but wasn't there at the same time.

It was strongest in the pack house. My wolf couldn't understand if we had a fated mate here or if it was a potential mate. It was hard to decide so I let it slide. I thought about asking someone.

I had gotten well with the head warrior's mate, Villa. She was a lovely woman whose elder daughter Lyla had grown on me on the first day itself. Her knowledge about medicine was really good. That eleven year old knew scientific names of some of the most important ayurvedic herbs. She had a book of Indian origin stating ayurveda.

I loved her.

Her mother Villa, well we talked. My wolf liked this woman. She was a strong warrior. She had looked after my arrival and stayed with the daily training sessions.
