CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

-: sixth year :-

── IN WHICH SHE'S
BOMBARDED

. . .

Pandora didn't know why she had accepted the invitation to go and watch the Quidditch match. It was most likely a bad idea.

Whilst Gryffindor house was where Remus got sorted into, nobody except him actually liked her. And Slytherin was Pandora's own house, and even that didn't like her.

She didn't even know who she would be supporting - so why would she go? The only reason why she was going was because Remus asked her. Of course she knew what Quidditch was, but she'd never watched a game of it, or experienced anyone flying outside of the moving images in the book she borrowed from the Castle's library.

Neither would even want her to support their side. Not that she really cared about that at all, it was just she'd rather spend her time doing something worthwhile than be stood among crowds of screaming students who wouldn't even want her there.

But alas, she didn't want to end up falling out with Remus once more, and on Saturday morning she woke up at the usual time as opposed to spending a little time sleeping in on the weekend.

Just because she was going to a Quidditch match didn't mean she was planning on being any less casual. Instead, she showered and changed into a black skirt and jacket set, thick, tweed-like material covering them.

There was nothing remotely Slytherin about her outfit, and as much as she normally put at least a snake broach on her collar, there wasn't one to be seen. Her tights had roses stitched into them, and the soles of her heeled boots had the same, and a large necklace covered her exposed neck.

There was no way this was at all appropriate for a Quidditch match, but Pandora didn't really care, making her way through the Slytherin Common Room and up the stairs at the end of it, passing by copious amounts of students wearing silver and green, anything from scarves to jumpers.

It was all a bit of an eyesore, but that was nothing compared to the amount of Gryffindor colours she was bombarded with upon her entrance to the Great Hall.

She kept her eyes cast down as she walked over to the Slytherin table, sitting down right at the very end and reaching for an apple, cutting it into slices as she tried her very hardest to avoid looking up. Remus wasn't there, meaning she didn't even need to try and look remotely comfortable sat at the table.

Pandora was debating whether or not her apple would be joined by a bowl of cinammon porridge of a slice of toast when there was a presence beside her, sliding down into the seat and beginning to load his own plate with bacon and eggs.

"Not planning on showing your house pride?" Remus asked when she finally looked up at him, deciding on getting a bowl of porridge and topping it with honey and the apple slices, taking a small bite as she shook her head. "Not even a snake in sight.. or silver and green. So does that mean you're planning on supporting Gryffindor?"

"I'm not supporting anyone." Pandora replied delicately, taking a sip of her coffee. "I do not share either house's ideals, even if I prefer one over the other. Neither would want me supporting them, so I am not doing so."

Remus blinked. He understood what Pandora was saying - as much as he hated to think about it, she was right in saying that the houses would want that - but he just didn't understand the idealistic preferences part. Did she mean Slytherin or Gryffindor?

She certainly hadn't expressed anything remotely close to how Slytherin came off - Remus had never even heard about her talk about blood purity or anything that evil she had done herself. She could be scary, steal things that weren't hers and incredibly stubborn, but anyone from the houses could be that.

"Either way." Remus swallowed his mouthful of bacon. "You're stand with me, Pete and Sirius in the stands, which means Gryffindor. We can always get you a scarf on the way?" He asked, hopeful.

Pandora cleared her throat, gaze dropping down to the bowl of porridge and Remus wonder what she had seen. Then he saw it himself, the rest of his friends staring back at him. "I'd rather not." Pandora said. "I don't think people would be comfortable with me being there. Sirius never enjoyed attending the family gatherings."

"I don't think Sirius likes his family full stop." Remus remarked. "Don't take it to heart. And don't think you're getting away that easily. Come and sit with me and the others. Please? Do it for me."

Her gaze travelled over to him, stirring honey into her porridge absentmindedly. Pandora nodded, just once, and a smile appeared on Remus' face.
