The aching in my stomach could not be ignored any longer. Well, I didn't want to ignore it. Villagers stared as I passed on my search for food. I could smell someone cooking something savory. It made my mouth water. Even though I'm still filthy I followed the scent. The looks I received were more respectful. Not as respectful as the looks they gave Lexa, understandably. But, still odd.

I came upon a tent and just outside was a large cauldron filled with some kind of stew. An elderly woman poked her head out of the tent to check on the stew but gasped catching sight of me. Maybe it was my appearance? She was an older lady therefore I doubt she saw battle herself in many years. Taking a step back I watched as she disappeared. For a minute longer I stayed to take in the smell of the stew.

"Hod op!" she shouted past the tent.

"Umm" I hummed quietly. I do not know what she said but I should attempt to assimilate with these people, right? I'm Trikru now even though I still feel like an outsider. Lexa's people have seemed to take to me much better than anyone else from the sky.

The woman waddled out of her tent with a plate piled high with mead and breads. My stomach growled from the meats aroma. "Teik dina" she thrust the plate into my hands. She matched my confused expression. Why would she give this to me? Didn't she have to pay for this food, it makes no sense for her to just give it away. "Eat" she made a hand motion of bringing food to her mouth.

I don't think she speaks English much so I wasn't sure if she understood when I thanked her. "Skai gona returns" a voice boomed behind me. Nyko. He chuckled walking up to stand next to me. His beard looked longer and the braids in it were in a new pattern. A small smile came to my face at seeing the kind healer. "Come, you need healing" he lightly slapped me on the shoulder. I flinched as pain shot down my back.

"Nyko, nice to see you" I said to him formally. He tried to steer me away towards his tent but the woman was still gawking at me. "Ask her why she gave me this plate" I said to him.

He hummed looking down at my hands. "Yu give disha dina?" he turned to the woman. The woman nodded and spoke so fast I didn't catch it all. Even though I tried to understand the new words I have picked up on so far. Nyko listened and turned back to me to translate. "She says she heard of the commanders wise decision to allow you into our clan and how you entered the mountain alone to slay mountain men" while he was telling me this the woman began to say something else. "Her son never returned from the mountain after he was taken. He died inside. She says she would like to feed the warriors responsible for avenging him. That's what the stew is for also" Nyko finished.

Clearly, the warriors told stories when they returned from the mountain. About the commanders declaration before I could be killed by my then people. Word must have spread that she gave me permission to enter the mountain otherwise I don't think I would have such a warm welcome. "Tell her my thanks" I asked Nyko.

"Mochof" he said to her. I noted the word away for another time. "Now come, your wounds need tending" he said steering me to his tent. I walked beside him eating a piece of the bread. When we did arrive he held open the tent for me to enter first.

"Mmm what is this" I asked curiously looking into the roll I bit into. The bread its self was sweet and it was a glaze drizzle over top. I have never had anything like this especially on the ark.

Nyko looked over his shoulder, "sweet bread or in trigedasleng rengbred." I will defiantly have to find more of this rengbred. My father didn't let me have sweets on the ark. Not that there were many, any that I had tried came from Anna. She would love this bread. When I see her next I will make sure to have her try some. "Alright skai gona-" he started.
