3 years later . . .
Sophie glanced at herself in the mirror, and turned around when she heard Edaline sniffling. "What's wrong, Mom?"
Edaline smiled gently. "It's just . . . You're so grown up now." Edaline replied, gently touching Sophie's face, a tear slipping down her cheek.
"Don't cry. You're gonna make me cry."
"Sorry. I know it's your wedding day." Edaline brightened. "It's just . . . it seems like only yesterday you were stumbling through our door. But here you are."
"What if something goes wrong?" Sophie worried.
"Nothing's going to go wrong, Sophie." Biana said as she came in with Linh, Marella, and Novaline. After Nova had broken up with Fitz, she had apologized profusely for her previous behavior. They had made up, and were all good friends now. Fitz was still irrelevant, though.
"You shouldn't worry about anything today." Nova said. "We'll take care of anything that goes wrong. But on another note, you look stunning, Sophie."
Sophie stammered. "Thanks,"
"Is there ever going to be a day that we can compliment Sophie without her getting flustered?" Linh teased.
"It's never going to happen, and you know that Linh." Biana replied. "We've been friends for how long now?"
"It's really been a good 15 years, hasn't it?" Sophie filled it in.
"Has it really been that long?" Biana asked.
"I guess it has, hasn't it?" Sophie responded. "By the way, do any of you know where Amy is?" she had invited her human sister a while back, to see if she could come or not. Amy had of course replied with 'Of course I'll be there!'
"She was preparing something with Arina." Biana replied, and glanced at the clock on the wall. "It's time to go now!" she exclaimed, and pulled Sophie outside of the changing room. Sophie picked up the corners of her dress, struggling to keep up with her friend.
"Biana! Stop running so fast!" she yelled.
"Oh, sorry." Biana replied, the rest of their friends catching up to them. As they were waiting for the wedding to finally start, Sophie reached up to tug an eyelash. "Hey!" Biana reprimanded. "We spent forever doing your makeup, don't touch your poor eyelashes."
"I'm sorry," Sophie apologized. "I'm just worried. What if we're not meant for each other?"
"Sophie, have you seen the way Keefe looks at you? It's like no one else exists when you're in the vicinity."
"You really think so?" Sophie asked, and Biana nodded.
"It kind of resembles when Kailo gets his candy." Biana said, and Sophie remembered Biana and Tam's 2 year old son. Yeah, her parents had been astonished, but Alden and Della had supported her and Tam through it, and Sophie was glad. "Oh! It's time!" Biana nudged Sophie into the beautiful venue of Memoralia, and Sophie stumbled in front of everyone.
She wanted to curl up into a ball and die, but she mustered all the love she had for Keefe and kept going down the aisle. Her friends and family were seated amongst the aisles, and all of her friends were sitting in the front as well as the majority of their parents. Fitz was noticeably absent, even though she and Keefe had decided to invite him.
When she reached the front of the aisle, there was Keefe. One of her best friends and her soon-to-be husband, she still remembered the day he had proposed to her, on their anniversary a couple of months back.
5 months ago . . .
"Happy Anniversary, Foster!" Keefe had called the second she answered the door to Biana's house. "I am so lucky you're not Biana. That would have been awkward."
