Chapter 13: Anchors

After Scott and Liv both said I love you, their relationship is stronger than ever. Over the past few weeks they have went on many dates and they couldn't be happier. Scott's really happy, maybe even happier than when he was with Allison. As Scott opens his door, Isaac is there and says, "Hey." Scott says, "Oh. Hey." Isaac says, "Um, are you going to school?" Scott says, "Yeah." Isaac says, "Okay, me too." Scott says, "Good." Isaac says, "Can I ask you a question?" Scott says, "Okay." Isaac says, "Are you angry at me?" Scott says, "No." Isaac says, "Are you sure?" Scott says, "No." Isaac says, "What's that supposed to mean?" Scott says, "I guess I'm not really sure how I'm feeling." Isaac says, "Do you hate me?" Scott says, "No, of course not." Isaac says, "Do you want to hit me?" Scott says, "No." Isaac says, "I think you should hit me." Scott says, "I don't wanna hit you." Isaac says, "Are you sure?" Scott says, "Why would I want to hit you? You didn't do anything did you?" Isaac says, "No. I mean, um... What do you mean?" Scott says, "I mean you didn't try to kiss her or anything, right?" Isaac says, "No! Absolutely not. No." Scott says, "Did you want to?" Isaac says, "Oh, yeah. Totally." Scott is a little angry that Isaac wanted to kiss Liv, so he throws Isaac. 

Liv's in the jeep with Stiles and Liv softly says, "Are you sure, you're okay?" Stiles says, "Yeah, it was just a nightmare. I'm okay, you don't have to worry about it." Liv says, "I'm your sister, I'm going to worry about you." Stiles slightly smiles. Later, Liv is at her locker when Isaac comes up to her and says, "Hey." Liv turns and says, "Hey, what's up?" Isaac says, "You doing anything later?" Scott overhears the conversation and Liv says, "Um, I'm helping Allison later, why?" Isaac says, "I had fun yesterday." Liv smiles and says, "If I recall I won fair and square." Isaac smirks and says, "Maybe I let you win." Scott watches Liv laugh at Isaac and his eyes glow red from being jealous. Afterschool Liv's helping Allison with shooting. Liv's putting a target on a tree. Allison says, "Do you really think this is going to help?" Liv says, "I know that if you think it's not going to help it definitely won't So get your head into it, shoot a few and see what happens. Oh maybe hold the string a different way. Try the Mongolian draw." Allison looks at Liv weird and Liv says, "Come on, I know how to use a bow and arrow. Can I try a sec?" Allison smiles and gives Liv the bow. Liv draws her arm back and aims. Allison watches Liv get a bullseye. Allison is an awe and says, "Wow, that was amazing." Liv smiles and says, " I took a archery for a few years." Liv gives the bow back to Allison and Allison tries again. Allison misses again and Liv says, "Okay, um... Take a second to close your eyes and imagine the arrow going into the target." Allison says, "Did you see that?" Liv asks confused, "See what?" Allison says, "Wait here." Liv says, "Are you serious?" Allison says, "I'll be right back." Liv says, "Great, this feels a little Deja Vu." Allison shoots an arrow thinking it's Kate, but shoots Liv. Isaac catches it before it goes into Liv. Liv gasps and Allison says, "Oh, my god. Oh, my god, Liv. I'm so sorry." In Allison car, Allison keeps saying sorry over and over again and Liv grabs Allison's wrist and says, "Hey, it's okay. I forgive you, I mean, you thought you were saying your dead aunt. So it's okay." Allison nods and Liv looks in the back at Isaac and says, "Thanks for being there." Isaac nods and says, "No problem." Allison drops both of them off at Scott's. Liv's in the kitchen with Melissa and Isaac is upstairs telling Scott what happened. Scott says, "Right at her head?" Isaac says, "Almost right through it And she keeps saying the same thing, that she keeps seeing her aunt. Whatever's happening to you guys is getting worse. If I hadn't been there, then Liv would be dead." Scott says, "What were you doing there?" Isaac says, "Uh..." Scott throws Isaac against the wall again, because of his jealousy. Liv goes up the stairs to see Isaac on the ground and Liv says, "Are you okay?" Isaac says, "Yeah, I'm good." Liv looks to see Scott's guilty face and Scott softly says, "Can I talk to you?" Liv nods and goes into Scott's room. Liv's on Scott's bed with Scott and Scott asks, "What did you do last night?"  Liv frowns and says, "I was practicing lacrosse, why?" Scott says, "Why was Isaac there?" Liv's frown deepens and says, "How did you know Isaac was there, did he tell you want happened?" Scott says, "No, I overheard your conversation with Isaac earlier." Liv gets off Scott's bed and says, "Wait, so you were spying on me and Isaac, why?" Scott says, "Because this morning he told me that he wanted to kiss you." Liv sighs and realizes what this is about and goes to sit back next to Scott and softly says, "Okay, Isaac can be a little flirty, but Scott I love you. That's all that matters and if you want I can tell ask to stop if it upsets you very much." Scott softly says, "It's okay, Isaac usually has no filter and I guess I was a little jealous." Liv softly kisses Scott and says, "Okay, but please don't spy on me again, I feel as if you don't trust me." Scott frowns and softly says, "I trust you and I love you." Liv smiles and continues to kiss Scott.

The next day, Everyone is sitting at the table and Scott says, "Okay, so what happens to a person who has a near-death experience and comes out of it seeing things?" Stiles says, "And is unable to tell what's real or not?" Allison says, "And is being haunted by demonic visions of dead relatives?" Isaac says, "They're all locked up because they're insane." Liv glares at Isaac and Stiles says, "Ha. Can you at least try to be helpful, please?" Isaac says, "For half my childhood, I was locked in a freezer. So, being helpful is kind of a new thing for me." Stiles says, "Hey, dude, are you still milking that?" Isaac says, "Yeah, maybe I am milking that." A un familiar girl walks up and says, "Hi. Hi, sorry. I couldn't help overhearing what you guys were talking about. And I think I actually might know what you're talking about. There's a Tibetan word for it. It's called "Bardo." It literally means "in-between state." The state between life and death." Lydia says, "And what do they call you?" Scott says, "Kira." Everyone looks at Scott confused and he notices and says, "She's in our History class." Liv softly says, "So, are you talking Bardo in Tibetan Buddhism or Indian?" Kira says, "Either, I guess. But all the stuff you guys were just saying? All that happens in Bardo. There are different progressive states where you can have hallucinations. Some you see, some you just hear. And you can be visited by peaceful and wrathful deities." Isaac says, "Wrathful deities? What are those?" Kira says, "Like demons." Stiles says, "Demons. Why not?" Allison says, "Hold on, if there are different progressive states, then what's the last one?" Kira says, "Death. You die." Everyone looks at each other with shocked expressions. The next night, Scott loses control and his mom says, "Let it go. Just breath and let it go." Scott says, "I'm trying." His mom says, "You told me you and Stiles learned a way to control this. You find an anchor, right? Find your anchor." Scott says, "My anchor is Liv." His mom smiles and says, "Then think about Liv. Think about how much you love her." Scott nods and thinks about how he loves Liv's smile and her loving look when she's content. Scott then gains control and his mom sighs and says, "You okay?" Scott nods.
