Chapter 28

Brian’s POV

“Does Eduardo already talk?” I ask George as we drive back home.

We still need to prepare for ball anyway and I am excited to see my wife in a dress.

“Nope, he keeps his lips sealed” he answer.

“Don’t worry we might get some useful information in this ball. And guess what?” he said and I just look at him waiting for him to continue.

“There is a rumor that the only survivor of the Romanov family is going to be there. And they want to have the jewel back as it is one of the item that is going to be auctioned later” he explain.

“I thought they are all already dead?” I ask confuse.

“Yes, that is why this ball is going to be fun, and this Romanov is a girl. But someone also said that, that girl is fake”

“But we wouldn’t know until we see her” I said.

“I know, for sure many will take interest especially for the ability she possess as it is going to be a big asset in the mafia” he continue.

“And the assassins that attack them any news?” I ask.

“Still nothing. But it’s not our problem though” he said and I agree.

The mysterious disappearance of the Romanov family is a big question especially in the underworld. The ability the family have is no secret thus it may be the reason why they are being targeted.

But I don’t care if the last Romanov is present, I am satisfied with my wife. And just by thinking about her I can’t help but smile.

“Seeing the smile on your face, I know you’re thinking about her” George pointed out.

“Are you really going to tell her about the mafia? How about the time you really first meet her?” he ask.

“Just like what I promise to her, I will tell her everything she wants to know. And beside I know she is starting to get suspicious about my disappearances” I pointed out.

“You really like her” he said grinning.

“I don’t just like her, you know” I said and not talk to him anymore.

A little while later we came back home.

I also learned from Tricia that my wife has started preparing for the ball. It is already quarter to six and the ball start at 8.

I went to my room not finding my precious wife so I think she is preparing on her room just across from mine.

I take shower first and change my clothes. After I finish dressing up I went downstairs to see George already there and also in his suit.

We were talking for a minute when I heard Jess’ voice. When I look behind me Glyn is wearing a red dress that shows her curves. I was left at awe just looking at her.

“Okay lover boy, here is your beautiful wife. Make sure other bugs won't come near her” Jess said.

I just nod at her and take my wife’s hand. George is riding a different car than ours. I guided her to the passenger seat in the car and take the driver seat.

When we are on our way to the venue I can’t help but keep steal glances from time to time but I think she knows that I am glancing at her.

After parking the car and help her out I hold both of her arms and look at her eyes.

“You’re looking beautiful in that dress do you know that?” I ask not breaking my stare at her.

“I am well aware just by your glances in the car from time to time” she said with a smirk.
