The few days came by like a flash. Or more like my death days. After the engagement party, Patricia came with a wedding planner.

They told me that the wedding will be next Saturday. They really have a thing for Saturday.

Days passed by and all I do is nod to everything they say. They also give me a brochure for my wedding dress and I just flip the pages while Patricia and Venice keeps talking with Wendy and her irritating voice pointing to everything as if this is her marriage.

I don’t actually care so I just keep browsing. Every wedding dress is beautiful. I can’t even choose which is which. So I just decided to flip the brochure and start looking at the back.

Weird, I know but I think beautiful things are stored always in the back. And I was right. Page by page I though it is the one by no, I keep comparing them to each other’s.

Damn why am I even taking this seriously. As if this marriage is true. I just heave a sign and just point something to them, which I also like saying this is my choice.

After that someone take my sizes. They also make me seat and with them to look for themes and such and this is crazy. And if you’re going to ask my soon-to-be-husband’s whereabouts because this is not just my wedding. He is in his office working leaving me here.

With so much irritation I stand up from my seat making them look at me.

“Okay, so everything is beautiful. I love everything on it, but I was thinking. The engagement party is a success and it’s very pretty. So I was thinking maybe you can also surprise me on my wedding” I said putting some enthusiasm in my voice.

Patricia think for a second before looking at me.

“But don’t you want your wedding to perfect?” she ask.

“Of course I want it, that’s why they are here” I say pointing to the wedding planner.

“And you” I added pointing to them.

“You guys know about this so, yeah I think you can do this. And I am going to see work. I have never been there since this engagement” I stated and grab my car key brushing the look Venice is giving me.

“Okay, drive safe” Patricia said and I nodded.

After entering the car I heave a sign. I started driving and like what I said, I went to the restaurant I am working and park my car.

I used the backdoor to enter the kitchen. Opening the door a busy kitchen welcomes me. When someone saw me they stop and stare at me for a moment before going back to their work.

“Glyn? Why are you here?” Lisa ask approaching me. She is one of the cook that I love so much.

“Because I am working here?” I answer hesitantly.

“But Mr. Velasquez told us that you already resign and that is what also Mr. Summers said” she say making me furrow my brows.

“Is Mr. Velazquez here?” I ask and she nodded.

I went directly to his office and after knocking I came inside seeing him signing some papers.

“Ms. Summers. Do you need something?” He ask after seeing me enter.

“I didn’t file any resignation letter so how did I resign?” I ask.

“It is Mr. Summers’ order. And beside you are getting married. I think it’s better if you focus on your marriage life” he answer and give a tight smile.

“If you didn’t have anything else you are excuse” he said gesturing to the door.

I just scoff and walk outside. There is no use to argue. Like my father, Mr. Velazquez the manager of the restaurant I am working, doesn’t also like me for I don’t know what reason.

I just take my phone and dial Jessica’s number. I don’t want to be in the house.

After spending time with Jess, days pass quickly and before I know it I am now walking in the aisle wearing a white stupid dress with a vile and my arm is link in my father.

They decided it to be a church wedding and making sure that this is marriage is going to be in a history. The extravagant decoration, my gown, flowers and everything.

As we came in front of the altar my father give my hands to Brian and he take it. The ceremony started and it looks like I am not the only one who is bored to death.

Then it came to the vow and exchanging of rings and I am in a rush to be out in this heavy dress. I am very thankful when they told me they have  prepared a different dress for the reception and it is less heavy than this one.

“….I now present to you Mr and Mrs Hawkins. You many now kiss the bride” the priest.

I felt Brian’s hand in my back pulling me to him. He deep his head towards me until I felt his soft lips planted in mine. I’m not going to lie but even though it is just considered a smack kiss I crave for more.

Damn what the hell is wrong with me?

They started taking picture here and there until they finally decided to go to the reception.

The visitors is about five hundred and most of them are Hawkins and Summers business partners.

After I change into the dress we went inside and started to eat. Then continue with messages. We also started chatting with some business partners and a never ending congratulations.

I excused myself from Brian and Daniel as they are talking about some business trying to find my friend. But when I saw her she is happily chatting with George.

I just sign and take a wine from the waiter and walk around saying thank you with everyone greeting me.

“Congratulations” I heard someone from behind me. Turning my back I saw Luis with his hands around a woman.

“Thank you” I answer

“Hello Crystal” I greeted and she smile widely.

“Oh how I miss you sweety” she said hugging me and I hug her back.

We never saw frequently when I was young but she is really kind and sweet.

“Where is Stephanie?” I ask pertaining to their daughter.

“Oh she couldn’t come as she’s taking her mastered degree” she answer and I just nodded.

“So when I am going to meet you after this marriage?” Luis ask.

“Tomorrow I think” I answer making them look at me weirdly.

“Why?” I ask

“Doesn’t the two of you plan going on a honeymoon?” Crystal ask.

“Oh yeah that’s going to be the day after tomorrow” I answer them making them give me a teasing smile.

“Oh shut it” but they just laugh at me
