Chapter 48

That afternoon the doctor really came back, but this time we meet him in Brian’s office and George is also present because he wanted to report something but the doctor came.

He looks confuse on what a doctor is doing here but we pay him no mind.

“So this is the result of the test on Mrs. Hawkins” he said as he open the envelope.

“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins, you’re two weeks pregnant” he said and place the test result above the coffee table.

Brian quickly grab the papers and examine the result. I was happy. I’m going to be a mother. I unconsciously place in my still flat belly.

Looking at Brian he is also looking at my hands in my belly with a very wide smile. So I think his also delighted to the news.

The doctor and his nurse leave, leaving some vitamins I needed to take.

“Congrats Brian” George said tapping Brian’s shoulder while he give me a hug.

“Congrats to you too” he said but was immediately taken from me as Brian glare at him.

“I am just congratulating him bro” he said in sarcastic voice.

“I’ll just leave you too but after 30 minutes I will come back” he added and leave immediately.

“We’re going to have a baby” he whisper kissing my forehead while I nodded.

I was having a party in my head when all of the sudden I realize something.

“Is this fine?” I ask him cautiously but he just look at me confuse.

“Don’t you want to have a baby?” he ask and I shake my head.

“Not that, I mean with everything around us right now. Is it good to have a baby?” I ask referring to those threats.

“I will make sure nothing will happen to you and our baby” he promise.

“So don’t stress yourself about it. And for a meantime let’s keep the baby a secret for now” he added and I nodded.

“Good idea” I agreed.

A while later George came back and reported to Brian.

“This is actually about Gustavo, we found one of his transaction route. We can take down those routes and place Walker’s in charge in those routes. They are actually not in a very good terms with Gustavo” he explain leaving Brian think for a moment.

“That’s a good idea. Let’s move to the base and plan our next action in detail. And about my wife’s pregnancy keep it a secret for now” he said and George nodded.

They both stand up and ready to leave but before he leave I grab the back of his shirt.

“I’ll come” I said but Brian shake his head immediately.

“No, it will be dangerous” he said and I just glare at him.

“I am just going to stay in the base and I’ll be staying with Marco like always or I can entertain myself in the shooting range” I reasoned making him sign.

“Fine, be sure to be with Marco at all time” he said and I nodded.

Leaving the house to the base, the sun is almost setting down giving the sky the orange, red and pink color. It’s so pretty. I keep looking at the sky and haven’t realize we are already here if not for Brian opening the door in my side.

He guided me inside. Dante is already waiting for them in the entrance of the house.

I bid goodbye to Brian and leave to the monitor room but not before Brian give me a short kiss.

Opening the door I saw everyone in their usual seat. Seeing me they all stand and bow a little before going back to work.

“You’re here” Marco said approaching me.

“Why, don’t you want me to be here?” I ask back seating in my usual seat.

“Not really, it was actually really helpful with you being here” he said.

As I stay here, aside from practicing in shooting range I take lessons with Marco on about computers, so now I am somehow good at coding.

I get to know more about computers. And the most fun part is the hacking and the decoding part.

“So, I’m going to babysit you here again as the others go have some fun?” he ask making me laugh.

“Most likely but them having a fun part must be different. Brian said that they are going to this Walker guy to disrupt this one transaction route of Gustavo” I said in bored voice as I keep on clicking footages.

“Who found about this information anyway?” I ask looking at Marco.

“There was someone that gives the information and after checking if it is true, they send someone to check it and it turns out that it’s actually true” he explained.

“And who is this Walker? I didn’t ask much detail to Brian” I ask.

“His one of the family's underboss that has a big grudge against Gustavo. And trusting him about this route is really a good choice since he is very loyal to the Hawkins since the alliance between them” he explain and I just nodded.

“Wait, did you just mention that you guys also track the location of Gustavo’s base?” I ask and he nodded.

“The don won’t let him get away with what he have done. And most likely to end the long hatred between the two families”

“Then, maybe I can help in location” I said and Marco smiled nodding.

“Yeah right” he said making me glare at him.

Even though I want to ask more questions on what they found I stop myself. I will make sure this guy would take back his words. He said that as if he don’t believe I will find him.

I will make sure he will be regret it. I started searching a map in the New York and since it is really big I would really find it hard.

And beside his base might not also be here in New York.

I started hacking some CCTV footage from the streets mark the map. Marco just giving me some weird glances.

I felt someone tapping my shoulder and when I look up I glare at the one and only Marco. He raise his hands in surrender as he handed me the phone.

“It keeps ringing. Answer it outside” he said and I just nodded taking my phone outside while he followed me. I decided go to the kitchen as I feel hungry or more like the baby beast is hungry.

Checking my phone on the way to know who would keep calling me, my face immediately pales.

This is bad. Really really bad. I have 10 missed calls already with 30 messages. Marco notice this and came beside me in panicked.

I look at him with a defeated face.

“Pray for my soul” I said as the phone rings again.
