Unwillingly Married

Chapter 46

I stretch my body and rub the back of the neck. This is exhausting. I keep tracking the budget and other things in the company.

“You okay?” Claire ask as she walks by seeing my state.

“I am tired” I whine and rest my head in the table. But she just laugh at me.

“Want me to get you some coffee?” she ask and I sigh.

“I don’t want coffee right now” I answer.

“Are you okay?” she ask instead.

“Yeah, just tired” I answer seeing piles of work on my table.

“You know, this is the time where you can use the ‘I am the boss wife’ and pass the work to others” she said making me laugh.

“Could I?” I teasingly reply.

“Yeah, but don’t choose me though” she reply.

“That is sad, I was thinking to give this to you though” I said making her roll her eyes.

“On the contrary, just do it yourself. I’m out of here” she said taking her leave.

I get back to work but I feel really sleepy and lunch time is still two hours away and I feel so hungry.

This past few days I always feel so hungry. Must be my period coming. I just sign and get my mind back to work as thinking of food makes me hungrier.

But I didn’t do much more work after that and just lay my head in the table and wait for lunch.

At exactly 11 for our lunch break I get up from my seat and went to Brian’s office.

I pay no mind to everyone as their eyes follow me, as usual, and open Brian’s office.

“What’s wrong?” he ask seeing my tired looking face.

“I am hungry” I answer and throw myself in his soft couch.

“What do you want?” he ask.

“Anything” I mumble. Feeling myself dossing to sleep but before I can even fall asleep completely I feel Brian’s hand in my forehead.

“You okay?” he ask with concern in his eyes.

“Yeah, just work” I answer

“Don’t you think in having a doctor to check up on you just in case?” he ask with a worry still lace in his eyes making me sign.

I get up from the couch and face him grabbing his face to look at me.

“I am fine. You’re just over protective. Don’t worry too much love, nothing will ever happen to me. And beside you are here with me, what’s more going to happen?” I said to calm him down.

“I know, it’s just that this past few days you’re not looking well” he explained making me think but all that I remember is that I just get easily tired and hungry..

“Should I be the one to ask you that question? Is the other work making you uncomfortable or something?” I ask but he just shake his head.

“Maybe, there is something and you just don’t want to tell me” I said eyeing him carefully.

“No, I am really more concern about you. And beside I don’t leave any detail about the ongoing making allies and other things you know” he said.

His right, he keeps telling me anything not leaving anything behind making me grateful.

“Then, it’s fine. You’re just worrying for something that is not concerning. I promise you no more secret right” I said at him making him sigh.

“Okay fine, but if you’re not feeling well just tell me” he said and this time with an authority in his voice making me roll my eyes at him.

A while later his ordered lunch for us arrive.

“By the way, what time is that party again this weekend?” I ask after taking a bite.

There’s going to be another party this weekend that we are going to attend. George said that this is to celebrate the Wolford’s wedding anniversary and since they are one of biggest investor of the Hawkins here in New York and Brian’s parents are going somewhere we are coming as their replacement.

“It’s going to start 8 in the evening” he answer and I just nodded.

We continue conversing until the lunch break is finish. I bid him goodbye and went back to my table and continue working. I really needed to finish this papers even though I don’t feel like working.

A notification sound rung in my phone and when I look at it, it’s a message from Jess. It’s been a while since I have talk to my best friend.

I wonder what she is up to.

It’s been a while Glyn, how are you and your hubby? I am quite disappointed at you for not giving me any detail. By the way I am coming back in New York this Monday so you better pick me up in the airport. Other details to be followed

After reading her message I laugh at how bossy it sounded. I can actually picture her saying that.

Sure, no problem. Just tell me what time and where. And what are you going to do here anyway?

I pressed the send button and after a minute I already received her message.

Can’t I just be there to see how my best friend is? And I actually sense that I am going to be an aunt any day now.

I quickly type my reply back to her after reading her reply. It also makes my mind go somewhere else. A child with Brian? I think it’s not so bad.

I stop myself from smiling and blushing. But I wonder if Brian also want a child or more like what does he think of us having a child?

Shut up. Just call you later, I am still at work.

I place my phone back at the table and went back to work but it seems that Jess’ words keep coming back to my mind.

Brian said that he loves me but how about having us a child. We still haven’t talk about that and maybe talking about having a child right now is not a  good idea especially the threat and a very tense atmosphere between the mafia family of Salvador.

For sure, Gustavo already know about the alliances that Brian is making. One of the reason that others agreed easily was because of his reputation as the biggest and strongest Italian mafia Don.

I should just pay it no mind. I don’t want to add more stress to him.
