Chapter 4 (Sunshine)

CHAPTER 4

Y/N's POV

Chaos seemed to like my answer and before I could say anything else, they were taking me somewhere through a void.

"I know you don't know this place that well, so I think Chiron has organised for the camp medic, a son of Apollo, and Annabeth, a daughter of Athena, to show you around. I'll be dropping you off where you're meant to be and then, yeah, you'll start camp properly."

Chaos seemed to be both happy and sad that I wasn't going to be with them all the time. It's been just us two for so long, but I think they're happy at the chance that I may make friends here too."

The void was opening and before I exited, Chaos told me,

"Also, if anyone annoys you, I'll kill them. Bye."

Chaos started laughing manically and then I exited the void. The sun was really bright, and I closed my eyes but then everything seemed to darken slightly so I looked up.

A girl with grey eyes and blonde hair stared down at me. I felt a bit embarrassed by how searching that look was. I concluded this must have been Annabeth. She did look like her mother.

"Will and I will be showing you round. Who's your parent?"

Her bluntness surprised me, but I could see that she really wanted to know. I remembered what Zeus told me so I just answered that I couldn't tell her.

She looked annoyed for a second but then she dropped her stare, her eyes became kind and her lips stretched into a smile.

I then heard a voice.

"Hey y'all."

I looked round to see one of the most beautiful things I had ever laid my eyes on... [just turns out to be some food.]

This guy walked up to us, and I could clearly see the resemblance. This was Apollo's son.

However, Will seemed less dangerous and much warmer than his father. His eyes shone with joy and kindness in the midday sun, his eyes so bright I thought I'd go blind. He wore an orange t-shirt with some letters on it that I couldn't make out, a short-sleeved chequered shirt on top, showing off his tanned and freckled arms, and khaki shorts to complete the look.

As he walked closer, I noticed he had multiple bracelets on his arms, most looked homemade while on his neck, he wore a simple beaded necklace.

As good as used to be with hiding my emotions, I think he noticed my blush. I put my hand towards the sun, to try and shift the blame from one sun to another.

Did I just think of Will as a sun? I'm doomed and I haven't even spoken to him yet. (How long is Will going to walk for anyway?)

Will (finally) reached us. He had a big smile on his face as he started speaking. After about a minute, someone started to shake me and I replied with,

"Huh?"

Will laughed and asked,

"Did you listen at all to what I said, or were you too busy looking at me as if I was the last piece of pie?"

Oh gods. He has a Texas accent. He wiggled his eyebrows at that while Annabeth looked confused. I blushed and replied with a small "I'm just tired" while he laughed again.

He started to repeat what he was saying earlier, and I tried to listen this time.

"I'm the head medic, my name's Will. This is Annabeth, she designed a lot of what you see here and a lot of what is on Olympus."

I remembered liking some of what I saw yesterday and turned to Annabeth.

"Oh. I was there yesterday. The throne room looked pretty cool. Some other things looked cool too."

Will and Annabeth looked at me as if a horse had just spoken.

Will started, "You were there yesterday?"

I answered hesitantly, "Yeah, and?"

Both Will and Annabeth laughed at this point while I just curled into myself a bit, not used to such attention.

"Moving past that for now, I need to do a quick check-up on you to see if you are fit and healthy before you join in in any training or games and stuff. After that, I'll guide you to lunch, you'll meet some of our friends and then we'll go to the campfire. That sound, okay?"

I simply nodded, overloaded by new information, having not spoken or seen people for so long.

Annabeth then looked at me and said,

"Will. I think you broke him."

Will shook me and I felt his warmth through his fingers. Why do I always crush on the straight ones? He's probably with Annabeth or some other beautiful girl.

"Okay, let's actually do the tour now, Will." Annabeth looked amused by my confused antics but clearly didn't want to have to wait all day.

I followed on as I was shown all the different places.

[So, I know there isn't an infirmary, but for the sake of le story, let's say there is one by the power of Y/N's creation powers.]
