Chapter 8 (Revelations)

CHAPTER 8

Will's POV

I went after Y/N and lost him for a second, only to find him sitting down on the floor and breathing heavily.

"Why are you all bowed up out here?"

He shot up when he heard my voice and looked at me, only to cast his eyes down again as his face shone pink. Whatever they said must have affected him a lot.

I put one hand on his shoulder and the other I used to tilt his head upwards to look at me. I asked him,

"What's wrong? Are you alright?"

He replied with,

"I'm fine. Can we just go back?"

I decided that no, we can't go back until he tells me what they did.

"Nope. I want to know what happened. I know my friends can be a few sandwiches short of a picnic," he squirmed for some reason when I said this phrase about the picnic and I wanted to know why, "but they're not mean."

He looked worried for some reason before he let out a large exhale.

"So, you know how Piper and Hazel, is it, spoke about my accent."

I remembered the conversation well and remember agreeing with everything they said.

"They then asked me, once I sat down, what accents I liked." He paused. "I told them that I quite liked..." He trailed off here.

"What did you tell them?"

"I told them, I liked yours." Even I blushed here. "And that I also quite liked the Italian accent."

I started to understand but let him continue.

"So, when I told them, they started laughing for some reason. Then you spoke and they laughed more, and I got more embarrassed. Then your friend spoke, and he had an Italian accent, so I got more embarrassed, they laughed more and now we're here. Satisfied?"

I nodded at him, and we moved back to the table and yet again, everyone stared at Y/N. He and I sat down again, and Percy asked Y/N a question.

"So, whose kid are you?"

I wanted to know the answer myself as he had a cabin to himself meaning that it wasn't one of the Olympians. Everyone else seemed to listen in here as this was already a story around the camp.

He started to speak. "I would tell you but someone" he looked at the sky, "told me not to tell anyone and I don't really want to anger that someone."

The clouds started to rumble, and Percy, Nico and Jason all looked uneasy.

Jason answered, "You've annoyed Zeus somehow. Please stop before we die."

All the other demigods looked to the sky and saw the clouds move.

In an effort to distract everyone, I suggested everyone do some training or whatever they wanted until the evening as there was a campfire happening tonight.

Y/N was taken away by Leo as a new person to try out his inventions. I told Leo that if anything happened to Y/N, scorch marks would be the least of his problems. Leo looked frightened by my swift change in demeanour, but he nodded and grabbed Y/N to take with him. As everyone else started to leave, I walked up to Piper and Hazel and spoke to them.

"Why did you have to make fun of Y/N?"

Piper looked surprised and asked me, "So, he told you everything?"

She gave me another look as I answered yes and then she spoke.

"Well, we only asked him if he liked anyone based on first meetings and stuff. He said that he would definitely have a crush on me if it weren't for the fact he likes guys."

She was about to continue on before I managed to splutter out,

"Wait, wait, wait a gosh darn minute. [If you're from Texas, I'm sorry for butchering the way people speak there.] Y/N likes guys?!"

Piper and Hazel looked confused.

"Didn't you say he told you everything?" Piper looked really worried that she had just told Will this.

"He only told me that he liked my accent and Italian accents!"

"Oh, that was part of it... shit. Fuck. I'm an idiot."

"And you were making fun of him for liking guys?!" I was starting to get pissed.

"No, I swear, we weren't. It was just who he said he liked but I'm not saying anymore. And we weren't making fun of him. It was just the situation."

She and Hazel then walked off with Hazel telling Piper that what Piper said was an accident and she couldn't have known better. I would have been more annoyed at her if it wasn't for the genuine remorse she showed.

I didn't want to tell Y/N that I knew as it might make him not want to be friends with us anymore. And if I'm honest, the idea that Y/N liked guys did make my heart flutter.

Y/N's POV

Leo waved me goodbye after I had seen, tried and reviewed every single one of his inventions. Admittedly they were cool, but I was so tired after that.

My thoughts drifted to when I spoke to Piper and Hazel and the partial lie I told Will so he would leave me alone. I can't believe I admitted that I liked Will and that I sort of liked Hazel's brother, Nico.

As I was lost in my thoughts about the two boys and making my back to my bed, I bumped into something.

Nico's POV

"Watch where you're going, or you'll get hurt." Wow. That's what I said to this guy. He hasn't done anything wrong, and I haven't even introduced myself.

"The name's Nico di Angelo." Y/N started to blush like he did earlier, and he looked so cute trying to hide it. I can like Will and still find a guy cute right... right? [Just to be clear, Will and Nico are not in a relationship yet. While I am focusing on Y/N, I will also write about Will and Nico getting together. Sorry for the long comment.]

"You're Nico?"

He sounded as if he knew me, so I asked.

"Do I know you or something?"

"No, you don't know me. Umm... this won't make much sense but my... 'patron'... used to teach me about what happened in the mythical world while I was with them and not on Earth." I couldn't believe this. Y/N lived off world. A smile made its way on my face as I imagined how nerdy Will would get if he knew that Y/N had been in space.

Y/N continued on, "And while they taught me about all of the demigods and about the side of the Titans, you were kind of my favourite demigod. You have pretty cool powers. And every time something happened, I made sure that they told me whether or not you were okay."

Y/N was fully blushing now as I think I probably was as well. Neither of us really said anything until Y/N said,

"Well... I should probably rest before the campfire."

"Yeah. Resting's good and yeah." I couldn't believe what I was feeling. Only Will ever made me feel this tongue-tied. What is happening at this camp?

A/N

Baby Nico is starting to have feelings for Y/N too and Y/N revealed how he knew of Nico. I liked the idea of having Y/N know about most of the mythical world and imagined him learning in a similar style to reading the books although I imagine Chaos to have taught him about the Titans' and Giants' version of events so Y/N wasn't biased. Nico is one of my favourite characters and it's funny to make him embarrassed. As always, feel free to comment and make suggestions about how this could be improved. I'm expecting this story to be quite long as I've already written about 13 chapters with about 17,000 words and that's only the first few days. 😊
