Chapter 7 (Meeting the others/The mess hall)

CHAPTER 7

Y/N's POV

Will took me through the camp to what he said was where everyone ate. I couldn't believe how many people were there.

It had been so long since I had seen so many people that I started to get emotional.

Will noticed and told me he'd be by my side, and he walked towards a table.

The table was quite large, and I saw quite a few people surround it. Why do all demigods have to look so good?!

Annabeth was there and she was speaking to a guy with black hair and sea-green eyes. I assumed this must have been Percy Jackson, the saviour of Olympus. There was one guy sitting next to Percy who had blonde hair and piercing blue eyes whom I recognised as one of the people who came to get me when I ran off. He was speaking animatedly to someone next to him. Next to him was the other guy who saved me and, damn it, he was absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. ["Drop-dead" because his father is the king of the dead. Anyone?] He had olive skin, eyes as black as night and hair to match. He looked annoyed about something, but I figured he was probably always this way. Even when he looked angry, he looked hot. I wanted to keep looking around the table, but I couldn't tear my eyes off him. (Calm down, Y/N, your gay is showing).

Reluctantly I moved on and saw Will sit next to this boy. The teen's eyes lit up slightly when he saw Will, but only for a second. Next to Will sat the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Her hair was a luscious brown, yet her eyes did not have one colour; they kept changing! Who is this girl? If I wasn't as straight as a roundabout, I'd probably have a crush on her. Meanwhile, I saw that there was a tall guy who sat on her other side. He was arguing with another boy about something while the girl in the middle was blushing but smiling. The tall one wasn't just tall. He was a giant compared to most of the people here and was very broad-shouldered while the boy he was arguing with might have been the shortest of everyone. He had brown, curly hair and brown eyes as well. The tall one had black hair but brown eyes as well.

I was wrong when I thought the brown-haired boy was the shortest as the cinnamon brown-haired girl in the middle seemed to be even shorter. She had golden/amber eyes. What is the deal with everyone having cool eyes here?

And finally, ending the circle of people around the table sat a girl and a boy. The girl had flaming red hair and green eyes. She looked to be a bit bored by everything and was poking a hole in her shorts. The boy had a wispy brown beard, curly brown hair, brown eyes and horns on his head. Horns! That's it. I'm done with this. Too much magic shit.

After I had processed that people with horns was normal, I looked for a place to sit.

There didn't seem to be any space for me, so I started to walk off.

Just before I left, I heard a voice call for me. Will's voice, telling me to come sit with them so he could introduce his friends.

Will's POV

----5 minutes earlier----

I sat down at the table next to Nico, expecting people to say hi to Y/N as I wanted him to feel welcome. I was just about to ask Jason or Annabeth to say something, but I got distracted by Frank and Leo arguing. Leo's point was that he can control his fire really well so it's safe, whereas Frank's point was that he didn't want Leo to ask their girlfriend to step through a wall of fire to see if he could control it. [I know it's not canon but I'm choosing to have Frank, Leo and Hazel to be in a relationship.] I wholeheartedly agreed with Frank. Less work for me if less people get hurt. Oh, and Hazel could be hurt, oh no... [Don't worry, Will cares more about Hazel's wellbeing than he does about the prospect of more work.... right?]

Piper looked like she was enjoying the cacophony of sound that came from our table and was very quiet, as was Nico, except Nico was always quiet.

I noticed Y/N look round the table and start to leave. I couldn't believe that he still didn't feel welcome, and it made me sad that he wouldn't even tell me that he wanted to leave. How low was his self-esteem?

I decided to include him and get him to meet my friends, in the hope that he would feel more welcome at camp in general.

He shyly walked back as the others all looked up at him, expecting him to speak. Knowing that he wouldn't, I asked everyone to introduce themselves. Percy started and everyone else followed. I noticed that once Y/N's eyes fell on the area of myself and Nico, they opened slightly and upon hearing us speak, he seemed to have trouble breathing. I thought I had just done a check-up on him, and he already seems ill. What is happening?

He introduced himself,

"Hi, I'm Y/N. I haven't spoken to people in a really long time so forgive me if I take time to adjust."

Once he had spoken, everyone looked at Y/N as if he had transformed into a giant mongoose.

After a few seconds, someone asked him, I don't remember who it was, and said,

"Where are you from?"

He looked a bit surprised.

He gave his answer hesitantly, "Britain?"

Hazel, Piper and Leo all looked straight at Y/N now and commented, [Imagine being able to look straight and not look gay, smh.]

"British accents are kind of cute", "I know I have Shel but your accent kind of makes me reconsider" and "That's hot."

Everyone turned to Leo at this moment as he realised what he said and started blushing heavily.

"Come on. Have you ever seen Tom Hiddleston in anything?"

This was said in an almost whisper as if he was talking to himself. (I agree with him, to be honest. Y/N's accent was kind of hot.) [Will doesn't realise what his accent does to Y/N. Lmao.] After... that, I motioned for Y/N to sit between myself and Piper as he had never met her. I let Piper and Y/N get to know each other while everyone had something to eat before I heard someone laugh. Hazel had joined them, and Y/N was blushing furiously while both Hazel and Piper were laughing as if Y/N blushing was the funniest thing to ever happen.

I asked them,

"So, what are y'all doing over here?"

Y/N somehow got even redder while Piper and Hazel laughed even harder. I was worried that I would have to get my medical supplies out if they get worse.

Even Nico couldn't ignore the girls' howling. He looked round me and spoke to Hazel.

"What the Hades is going on over here?"

Y/N got so red that I thought he would be sick, but he ended up leaving the table and walking away.

"What did you two do?"

Piper and Hazel were surprised how annoyed I sounded, used to me being the cheerful one.

"We merely asked him a question" was the reply I got from Piper.

"He just got embarrassed. He'll be fine."

Regardless of what they said, I decided to follow Y/N and see if he was alright.

A/N

I wonder what they were talking about... I know that this was a long chapter and most of it was setting up. I'm hoping to spark some things between Y/N and Will a bit more next chapter. Next chapter should also feature a campfire, but it may be the one after, or the one after that etc. I don't know.
