Chapter 9 (The Campfire)

CHAPTER 9

Y/N's POV

I walked away from Nico as I silently screamed at myself for telling Nico about that. I tried to just forget and walked back to my cabin.

I was stopped multiple times on my way by people trying to find out who my parent was. Even Jason and Percy came up to me and asked me a few questions though they were the kindest and most respectful about my decision not to tell them.

Upon entering my cabin, I closed the door and laid down on my bed, willing a mobile phone into being that Chaos showed me how to use before I left because they were interested in human things. I set an alarm on it for the campfire and fell asleep.

I woke up to someone shaking me. I saw Will there while Nico waited in the corner. I immediately started to blush as I was only wearing my pants [underpants for Americans] and my shirt that I had been wearing all day. [I feel sorry for Y/N's body. It's constantly having to make him blush every 5 seconds.] I realised that I wasn't even covered by the blanket as I didn't even bother to go under it. Both Will and Nico averted their eyes and had faint blushes, but Nico seemed to be casting glances. I quickly pulled the blanket over me and angrily whispered to them.

"Why are you here in my cabin while I was asleep?!"

Will looked like he felt bad for making you cranky, but he explained.

"It's time for dinner and I didn't want you to miss it. Missing meals is bad for you, you know." I heard the worried doctor voice come out of Will's mouth, so I didn't bother to argue with him. I only asked for both him and Nico to leave while I got changed.

I changed into some black skinny jeans with a F/C shirt. I decided to wear my woven bracelet as well and a necklace. This creation power was becoming really useful.

I walked out of my cabin to see Will and Nico waiting for me. I was touched that they actually waited for me while they could have been with their friends. Chiron is probably making people be nice to me so they probably didn't get a choice anyway, although Will actually seems genuine. All the others do too but they seemed genuine in the past too and look what happened.

Before I stumbled into those thoughts again, I decided to walk with Will and Nico to the mess hall again. The same people were together at this meal as well. I also noticed that some were burning and wasting food. How dare they commit such a crime? Food is cool. Why would you do this? We reached the table with the group on it, and everyone said hi. I sat near Percy, Annabeth and Rachel this time.

I found out Rachel was the Oracle, and I couldn't believe that this girl was the main prophecy-giver of all of humanity. She was actually really cool and while we ate, she told me about how she threw a hairbrush at Kronos one time. She asked me who my parent was, and I told her I couldn't tell her anything. Rachel said her view was clouded when she wanted to see through the Mist to see something. Chaos must have done something.

Rachel started to speak to Annabeth as I spoke to Percy. We didn't say anything for a while till I said,

"You have pretty eyes."

Percy looked surprised but also appreciative of the comment.

"Thanks. My dad's Poseidon so I guess it makes sense that my eyes would be this colour. Loads of monsters seem obsessed with it for some reason. You're not a monster, are you?"

I thought this might be a joke but for once, Percy looked serious, so I tried to answer as quick as possible.

"No, I'm just a normal person. I'm not a monster. Please don't kill me."
