Chapter 14 (Dat- Film Night)

CHAPTER 14

Will's POV

After the initial shock at how Y/N was dressed, Y/N invited me into his cabin, and I saw that he had prepared for the dat- I mean film watching session (?).

There was a TV and on a table there were all the Star Wars films in order [I-IX]. I also that Y/N's cabin reflected himself well. A lot of the furniture was F/C and the rest was made up of different shades of grey, white and black. I then brought my eyes back to Y/N who looked at me sheepishly after he saw my eyes scan the room and then him.

He said, "So uh- which one shall we watch?"

I glanced at the DVD cases and picked my favourite, asking Y/N to place it in the DVD player.

We shared a look with each other before he played the film, and I heard the familiar opening sequence play. After 5 minutes of watching the film, I looked at Y/N again and he looked completely engrossed in the fight between the two sides, his eyes lighting up whenever there was a small victory for the 'good ones' as he so eloquently put it, having originally forgot what they were called.

We continued on like this; both enjoying the film while also making subtle glances at the other when we thought the other wasn't looking. Once the end credits rolled in, I looked at Y/N who was looking at me.

"That's my favourite one."

I laughed when he said that, and he joined in after a few seconds.

Once we calmed down, Y/N's demeanour seemed to change.

Y/N's POV

Why did the film have to end so quickly? I wished we had longer and I didn't want the evening to end. I could tell Will noticed my sudden sadness.

"Want to play a game?"

I couldn't hold back my smile when I heard Will said that. I nodded eagerly and asked him to explain it.

"The way you play the game is that you can ask any question to a person but then you also have to answer your own question afterwards. We'll see how it goes."

My head continued to nod. I'm not sure if I knew how much I was smiling.

Will asked the first question, "What do you think of camp?"

I was grateful that this was a relatively easy question, but I thought about it for a bit before answering with, "I think I like it. A lot of people have been really welcoming and I don't know, I just feel happy here."

Will smiled at me after hearing my response before answering the question saying, "I love camp. It can be stressful sometimes: being the head councillor for the Apollo cabin means that I'm always healing injuries, but the people here are really nice, and I really get on with everyone and it's just really good and- "

Will stopped when he looked at my face and I realised I was grinning at him. Hearing Will be happy made me feel happy. Will blushed slightly before saying,

"I talk too much, don't I?"

I quickly scrambled to think of what to say before coming out with,

"No, no, no. It was just that- seeing or hearing you, I guess, sound so happy made me feel happy. And don't worry about talking too much. I sometimes do that."

Will smiled and went silent for a bit before telling me it was my turn to ask a question.

"Who would you say you get on best with at camp?"

Will seemed to have to think about this and his brow furrowed slightly which only made him seem cute. I pushed that thought away when I heard him answer.

"I guess I get on best with my siblings? And maybe Cecil, and Lou Ellen, and Clarisse." Will then blushes. "I also get on well with Nico. He can be quite nice when he wants to be and yeah..."

I noticed that Will trailed off and to bring him back to the conversation, I said,

"So, I'll answer my question now." Will nodded at me, seemingly brought back from whatever he was thinking about.

"I'd say that I get on well with Hazel and Piper. Leo's a lot of fun. All the others are quite fun too but out of everyone else, I'd say that I also get on quite well with Nico, Percy and you. You've all been really nice to me."

Will's POV

My heart lifted at hearing Y/N say that he feels he gets on with me. I worried I'd been too pressuring with him, but I was so happy to hear that wasn't the case.

I decided to ask a new type of question.

"Have you ever been in a relationship before?"

I expected Y/N's face to go red but what I didn't expect was his face to darken and for him to look angry. I immediately regretted asking but Y/N seemed to be determined in answering. He seemed to take some time to compose himself before answering.

"I was in a sort-of relationship, but it turned out the guy was lying, and he ended up making fun of me with his friends."

Y/N's POV

Why did I tell him? I put my head in my hands. I then felt something on my arm, and I looked up and realised it was Will's hand. He gripped my arm and looked at me before saying,

"I'm sorry someone treated you that way. There are just some terrible people out there. You deserve better than that guy."

I smiled at Will although I don't really agree with him, as much as I do wish I was good enough for someone better.

Will started to speak. "I've been on a couple of dates but nothing more. Never been in a relationship I guess."

Hearing that, I felt a small surge of hope and I decided to ask Will a question.

"So, is there anyone you like right now?"
