Chapter 12 (Flickers of a flame)

CHAPTER 12

Will's POV

Seeing Y/N look so encouraged and comfortable with the other campers made me so happy. I was worried that Y/N would have trouble speaking to people but after he angered Zeus, people started to find him cool and started to speak to him and get to know him. I turned my back for a second so I could speak to some of my friends but almost none of them seemed to be there. I saw that they were all in the crowd of people trying to talk to Y/N. Piper, Hazel, Leo and Percy were talking to him right now and they started laughing at something Percy had said. Nico was still sat down near me, however he was staring at Y/N.

Nico's POV

Y/N was really powerful. And for some reason, I found that hot. To know he was or would be stronger than even Zeus or Typhon or Tartarus. And yet here he was, laughing with the others, looking incredibly cute as he blushed when he noticed me staring. The funny thing was that even though this boy was catching my interest, I still kept pining over Will. Would it be possible for three guys to be together? [I don't know, Nico, maybe we'll find out.] I noticed Will look at me after he finished gazing at the crowd and I felt a little bit flustered at how he stared at me. I started to stare into his eyes as well.

Will's POV

Oh gods. Now he's looking at me. I forgot how those black eyes of Nico's could make me feel. I could feel my core start to get warm when Nico's eyes started to travel lower and lower and then back up again. Was he checking me out?! Surely he wasn't but even so, it wasn't fair that he could make me feel this flustered, so I returned the favour by doing the same thing back.

Nico's POV

Now this isn't fair, he's checking me out now. And he does it so much better. His eyes lingered on my lips for a second too long for it to just be a glance. So, I did something else.

Nico's and Will's POV

This is getting to be too much. Someone help.

Will's POV

Help came in the form of Y/N and Hazel who sat down near us. Y/N next to me and Hazel next to Nico. Both rested their heads on the one they sat next to and before I knew it, Y/N had fallen asleep on me, and Hazel had the done the same with Nico. I was at a loss for words, and I looked to Nico for help, but he had this strange look in his eye. It wasn't anger, or jealousy or something negative. It was more affectionate. We stayed that way for a while until the others came back and we had to tell Percy and Leo to be quiet, the two being the loudest of everyone. Once it was quite late, we decided to leave but I didn't know how we were going to get Y/N and Hazel back without waking them. Frank helped by lifting Hazel and taking her to her cabin while Percy, Jason, Leo and Nico offered to help take Y/N back to his cabin. In the end, it was decided that Nico and I would take Y/N back. We lifted Y/N together given that I wasn't Frank-level strong and took him back to his cabin. We laid him in his bed and put the blanket over him and were about to leave before we heard Y/N speak.

"Don't leave me. Please don't leave me."

We both halted and looked back at Y/N whose eyes were still closed but were scrunched up.

"Jessie, I can't do this without you. Don't leave me. Don't die. Please."

He was crying at this point and now started to move a bit while sleeping.

"This isn't fair! Why couldn't he love me back? Why didn't my father love me enough to accept me? Why did you die, Jessie?!"

Y/N was shouting by now and all we could do was watch as he wept and screamed.
