I stared at the group of handsome men standing across the quad from me. I was actually just staring at one of them. The man I've been in love with since I first laid eyes on him, Kim Namjoon.
He's the perfect man. He's handsome and smart and kind and hardworking and a leader and just perfect. I can't help but be in love with him.
He was in the middle of his group of friends who were surrounded by their admirers. I would never be seen anywhere near them. I'm terrified of the popular people like them. So I'll just stick to admiring Namjoon from a distance. A far, far distance.
I looked down at my notes, trying to focus on studying my school notes instead of studying Namjoon. Just as I was about to read the first line of notes, the school bell rang, letting everyone know it was time to get to class.
The group surrounding Namjoon and his friends dispersed along with the guys. I gathered my things as the quad was emptying. I looked over to where Namjoon once stood and saw a notebook on the ground.
Should I just leave it there? Someone would come looking for it, surely. Especially if there were school notes. I walked over and picked it up.
It was a pink notebook with 'Love Note' written in white cursive letters on the cover with hearts for 'o's. Did some girl drop it when she was distracted by the handsome popular men?
I opened the notebook to try to find a name of the owner. Instead of a name, or notes, it said 'How to Use It' and then a list of instructions.
-The humans who are written in this note shall fall in love.
-This will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her/their name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
-The notebook has 96 sheets of paper with 33 lines per side of the paper. If you write small, you can cram in as many names as you want.
-The Cupid's voice and form will go completely unnoticed by others.
-In return for letting you keep the notebook, the Cupid may not take it back unless the owner meets their destined lover.
-It is up to the owner to decide how to use the notebook -- whether it be for helping the cupid, getting rid of unwanted lovers, seeing those they love find love, or choosing to not keep such an item.
-This Love Note can only be used by the one who found it. If the owner throws it away or loses it, the right of ownership is automatically transferred to whoever next picks it up, whether it's the original Cupid or another human.
-One must know the face of the person whose name is written down for there to be an effect. That way, people with the same names will not be affected all at once.
-You can write with any pen: the color doesn't matter. If you use a sticker with a name printed on it, there will be no effect. Please write directly onto the notebook. It would be a good idea to change your handwriting as much as possible.
-Be careful not to let other people see the Love Note.
-If you write your own name here, you will not be affected.
-When you run out of room to write in the Love Note, you may ask the original Cupid owner for another.
-The only time the Love Note will be taken away, if when the owner consummates their love with their destined lover.
I stared at the list. Who the hell uses a notebook to pull a prank like this? I turned and walked into the school building to get to class. I stuffed the notebook into my backpack. I would take it to the office when I had time. They would know what to do with a joke like this.
