This is a really long one. Sorry. And there might be a part two if enough people like it.
The Kingdom of Gangnam was perfect. That's what the neighboring kingdoms thought, at least. Along with the people of the Kingdom. The people were happy. The land was prosperous, so the crops grew well. Taxes were good and fair. The King was kind to his people. The Queen was charitable to her people, always helping them. And the Princess was always smiling, causing everyone who saw to smile in return.
Princess Y/N was beautiful, with long wavy auburn hair, a perfect oval face, pearl-like skin, large round dark brown eyes, and a petite willowy figure. Every time she was seen out of the castle, heads would turn to her. The Princess would not see the gazes, in fact ignoring them completely.
Rumors spread to other kingdoms of the beauty and kindness of the Gangnam Kingdom's Princess. Many people of the other kingdoms believed that the rumors were exaggerated. But everyone in the Gangnam Kingdom knew that the rumors were all true.
At the moment, the King had called for a meeting of the court members. The Princess almost never came to these meetings, but for once she was invited. She hated being stuck in a room not being able to roam or do her favorite hobbies. The noblemen sat around the king, listening as he spoke. The Queen and Princess sat on either side of the King, listening to him intently.
"Now onto the last business I wanted to speak about," the King said. The Princess perked up. The meeting was almost finished. "And the reason my beautiful wife and daughter here. What I wanted to say was, that I've started to look for a husband for Princess Y/N," The noblemen began whispering to one another.
The Princess sat in her seat frozen. She was of marrying age, but she never once thought of actually getting married anytime soon. She looked down at her interlocked fingers, imagining a ring sitting on one of them.
"Have you found any worthy options?" an older nobleman who sat a bit further down from the King asked.
"My son is of marrying age!" a middle-aged nobleman shouted. He stood from his seat, raising his hand towards the King. "He would love to meet the Princess!"
The royal family looked at the nobleman in shock. The Princess blushed.
"My son is also of marrying age," the nobleman sitting next to the queen said, quickly.
"I've looked outside the Kingdom," the King said. "Since I was unable to have a son, a prince from another Kingdom is needed to run Gangnam. I've reached out to the surrounding twelve kingdoms and have received answers from them all. Seven of them are sending their sons to meet Y/N. I hope that is okay, my dear."
He looked to his daughter for an answer. The Princess had been looking at her interlocked hands on her lap. When she heard her name, she looked up at her father. She squared her shoulders and turned to her Father, directly.
"I know you are looking out for the Kingdom's future, Father," Y/N said with confidence. "I will meet these princes and choose among them which to marry. I will choose the right one for the Kingdom."
"Thank you, my dear," the King said, placing a hand on hers. He turned back to the face the noblemen. "They will be arriving within the next two weeks. And they will each be bringing an entourage to keep them company. And once they all arrive I was hoping that we could hold a ball for our visitors."
"That's a great idea," the Queen said excitedly. "I'll start planning it right away."
"Thank you, my love," the King said.
"Your Majesty, if the princes are arriving at different times, won't some of them be at a disadvantage?" a nobleman asked. "The princes who come sooner will spend more time with the princess, and the last ones will have less time with her."
