Chapter 1: Eclipse

"Daniel! Get down here now!" a woman yelled from downstairs.

"Almost done getting dressed, Mother!" A boy yelled back. The boy had short, blonde, semi-messy hair, grey eyes, and a black shirt and pants along with a thin dark-colored jacket and black shoes. The boy ran down the steps and into the kitchen then, as he grabbed a piece of toast that he put in his mouth, went into the living room, sat down on the couch, and started to tie his shoes.

"Daniel! What have I told you about eating in the living room?" The woman asked the boy harshly.

"Not to, but I have to get ready fast, or I'll be late for our first day back to school since the strange event a few weeks ago," Daniel responded.

"Yes, but it's hard to clean up messes on the carpet so try not to tomorrow."

"I'm leaving Mother! Hurry up big brother or you'll be even later than me!" a small girl yelled as she ran out the door to run to school with her friends.

"Get over here you little brat!" Daniel yelled after his little sister.

"Daniel! Don't call Abigail a brat and tell Abigail not to tease you."

"Fine," Daniel said as he grabbed his phone and ran out the door. "Abigail, get over here!"

"Uh oh. Hey, Julia, can you help me right?"

"Sure," the girl next to Abigail on the right said.

"This isn't going to end well for me is it?" Daniel said as he watched Julia turn around and hit the ground. "Crud," Daniel said as a stone wall appeared in front of him causing him to run into it.

When Daniel made it to school, he barely made it in time to class.

"Late as usual are we Daniel?" A man in the front of the room asked.

"Not exactly usual Mr. Studder. This time I ran into a wall and hurt my nose."

"Well go ahead and sit down."

"Okay," Daniel said as he took his seat between his two friends Tom and Sarah. Tom had brown short hair, brown eyes, and always wore a green shirt and jeans and green shoes. Sarah had long, brown hair, with a long ponytail that went to the left, and two purple streaks that were hanging in front. Her eyes were blue, and she had purple lipstick on at all times, and she always wore a purple jacket, with a pink shirt, a red scarf, and a pair of red gloves, with jeans and white shoes.

"Alrighty, class. Good morning! As you guys know a strange meteor crashed into the Earth a few weeks ago and now about half of the human population has powers. If you are part of that population then you will need to go to the cafeteria where you will tell them your name and your powers, but first, a twenty-minute break to catch up with your friends oh, and those who don't have powers will stay here in the classroom. Break starts now."

"Hey, Daniel! How have you been?" Tom asked.

"I've been good, what about you?" Daniel responded.

"I've been great! Do you have your phone?"

"Yeah."

"Give it to me."

"Okay," Daniel gave Tom his phone cautiously.
